My coworker was just telling me her husband's company is basically forcing them to come in tomorrow, so he either stays at a hotel tonight, or he's out. Insanity. The poor guy commuted by public transportation today, so that he could save his parking space for her when she gets home with their kid. Now he's got to trek back and forth from Burlington to Charlestown in a storm. What a nightmare.
I really hope we don't lose power. We've got a fireplace and a grill, so we'll be ok, but I am pretty sure my husband will make me in.sane with no technology to distract him. Ugh.

What?!? That's horrible. Unless he's a doctor or nurse or some other essential employee, that's criminal. They are shutting down the MBTA for tomorrow and I'm pretty sure the governor has issued a ban on road travel all day tomorrow. I hate that companies put their profits above their employees safety.

Ok also just reading this thread fully. That is total BS that some companies would make you use a mothereffin vacation day if you lose power and can't work during a state of emergency when the governor has asked people to stay off the roads. In RI they shut down the bridges to/from Aquidneck Island (Newport) and they have said that they will arrest people driving after a certain time tonight and into tomorrow morning. So how do people even get to work with no public transit and no ability to drive on the roads?!
DH made it home, yay! Some dude just knocked on my door and handed me a flyer offering snow blowing/shoveling tomorrow. So smart! I bet he makes a killing!
Glad he got home safely. I was stuck waiting at Kendall before coworkers and I decided to walk to other lines. I walked 2+ miles home from Cambridge. Faster than the T!

Damn! Did you walk across the Longfellow? That must have been equal parts neat and awful during the storm! Glad you made it home ok
Yeah it wasn't that bad though. There was a T stuck on it that was blocking most of the wind
