My dishwasher finally died*. Of course it died the day I used every pot, pan and serving bowl in the house to make sauce from scratch and serve a dinner party. Help me! Recommend your dishwasher to help.narrow my search.
TIA
*Update: Or I thought it died, I googled the owners manual and fiddled around a little with a hard reset off unplugging it, and now it's running. All the same, this has me shopping for a new one - just a little more slowly and watching for sales.
We have a Bosch 800 plus series. Super quiet - sometimes we forget it's on. I'm very happy with it.
I am leaning towards this. How long have you had it? Thanks for the feedback!
Almost two years now. We replaced it during our kitchen renovation because we scored a great deal on it (under $500). I highly recommend a model with a third rack for flatware at the very top of the machine. It's great to be able to use the entire first rack for dishes.
Hubs is in the matchy-matchy camp so we have a GE Profile that replaced our old Whirlpool to match the rest of our appliances. High end of the line with aluminum tub. Freakishly quiet. GD2 has been known to try to open the door while it was running just to see if it was actually running.

We have a Bosch at this house, but it doesn't have the third rack silverware. It's is quiet. It does it's job. We have a Maytag at our cabin, it was about $500 at lowes with delivery. It is about the same as the Bosch. Unless your really a brand lover, I would go to lowes, brandsmart or your local similar, and Home Depot, and buy the deal that is under 50 decibles or whatever they call the noise thing.
Before we moved we had an ANCIENT Kenmore that cleaned so well we could never justify replacing it (despite it looking ancient).
We sold our old house and the people who bought it chose to replace of all the appliances, the 12 year old maytag dishwasher that rocked. Oh my, what a mistake. I would have started with the Jennaire gas range that just plane sucked or the 3 year old ge oven microwave combo that never should have been manufactured. All worked when we sold he house, but you could throw a steak on a plate in the Maytag and everything would come out clean.
We have a super quiet Bosch that I LOVE!!! We had a superloud builder-grade GE for about 8 years, and when we replaced it, it was like a dream! There's a little light that shoots onto the floor to indicate it's running since it is so darn quiet. Love it.
