I was going into a local coffee shop when I saw a woman walking towards the door with her hands full. I notice her so I grab the door open for her and smile. No smile, no thank you, she just said "you should be wearing a coat". I wish I were quick with sarcastic comebacks.
"Thanks for the tip. I'll go grab one and you can handle the door by yourself then."
That is what I would say in my head or in the car. I am quick with one-liners, but too cowardly to actually execute them. That was very nice of you to hold the door.
Lol roses. Whenever I hold the door for someone and they don't acknowledge me I say "you're welcome!" loudly (but cheerfully of course) with a big ass smile on my face

I do this exact same thing! (and was going to post that) I caught my son doing it once, I think he was around 8, the person he held the door for got a little embarrassed.
