I just found out about this program from my parents, it's brand new. They have a shovel program, you sign up for it and they will send someone to your house to shovel your specified areas, for a price of course, but it may be worth it if you have relatives that you can't get to.

I am so happy I live in a condo on snow days. They plow the lot and snow blow the walks. But good for Somerville looking out for those that need help. I love living here.
I would gladly pay to have someone take care of shoveling for me but sadly no one seems to do that in my area. Growing up, there were always kids that walked around with shovels after a snowstorm, trying to make some money. Why don't any of those exist in my 'hood now???
IKR, we would do that as a kid, we didn't want to shovel our own house, but we'd shovel someone elses, LOL
I husband did pay a group of kids 100.00 to shovel the house last week, but I think it was a fluke they were on the street. I have a feeling he'll be doing the shoveling today.

scm1011, I don't know why but I always get Teele confused with Porter Sq.
liveintheville, I know Bow St!. Are you in the apts that are on the end by the bridge? I always wondered about those apts. Wither they are nice to live in. My mother YEARS ago used to work for Am. Electroplating which was at the very end of Bow St. Oh and I used to work as a receptionist at Cataldo.

I'm at the other end where it dumps into Somerville Ave. Across from Stanhope Framers and near Market Basket.
