what kills me (although I'm anti DP anyway) is that the biggest witness was the wife of his co-conspirator. I mean, really? Of course the other man's wife is going to claim that her husband didn't do it....that the other guy confessed to her.
but regardless, I'm always sad when the DP is carried out, no matter the circumstances. I just don't like living in a country that kills its own citizens in a planned and methodical way. It makes me sad
There is a part of me that is horrified by the number of people on death row (or in prison in general) who are being released because of new DNA evidence, or witnesses recanting, or shoddy police work coming to light. The idea that an innocent person can be killed by what is supposed to be a justice system is appalling.
The other part of me sees people like Ted Bundy, and Tim McVeigh and has absolutely no problem with not paying for their food and upkeep and medical and shit for the rest of their natural lives.
It's more expensive to execute someone than it is to let them rot in prison.

I hate that. Because I really want them gone from this earth.
I hate everything about this. Just based on the article, there seems so much wrong with this case. If they doubted the results, have the defendant take another one, test the DNA that was found on the deceased body and I will refrain for going off on my thoughts about Jefferson County police. (Just because someone says the equivalent of "snitches get stitches" does not mean they understand what they are truly saying. Ex: many elementary school aged kids who uses that saying).
