Staples trying to buy Office Depot (audio)

I need lawyers to tell me if the argument that there's "more competition" from big box retailers and online retailers now is legit or BS. Because to me, that reads like, "Oh, well, my options are this big box store or this other big box store or Amazon, all of whom can fix prices together."

Disclosure: I didn't listen to the story

From a personal perspective I very rarely go to staples or office depot. The only time I go there is if I need ink for my printer but otherwise if I need a new laptop I go to Best Buy, paper I go to Wal-Mart or Target, etc.

From a corporate/business perspective I am sure most use either one or the other and not a big box store or amazon.

I know the guy who started Office Max and sold it for a shit ton of money. That's all I have to add - lol.
