I usually just watch the food oriented ones. Every now and then I learn a new interesting piece of trivia. One time I watched one, I was trying to help myself fall asleep, it was on crazy shit that uptown New Yorkers go through to get their snowflakes into preschool.
But anyhow, in my history the only two documentaries I see that I found interesting were Terms and Conditions May Apply which I doubt that you would need to watch. You're probably already good to go on that type of thing.
I thought that Tiny: A Story about Living Small was fascinating to watch. In fact it inspired me to look at some additional books websites and tons of Youtube videos afterward to find out more about the concept and culture. Edit: And I now am slightly obsessed with shipping container homes. Ironically DH is going to spend the next year living in a converted shipping container.

www.netflix.com/WiMovie/70273279 For anyone who is logged in. Oh my gosh I'm reading the negative reviews. These people need a reality check. They're complaining about the 25K dollar price and I'm like, do you knowww how much regular construction costs in a state like California? You don't? Okay then shut up.
Auschwitz: Inside the Nazi State is interesting. It's a multi-episode show, very interesting and sad, obviously. We started it about two years ago and didn't finish it, but it's still in our queue; we'll finish someday.
I've seen Terms and Conditions and every season of Gangland (which I sometimes watch to fall asleep), but I haven't watched Tiny. I've thought about it though, I'll have to check it out.
I went and rewatched tiny today and I still like it but I realize now it only shows mostly one viewpoint on the whole thing. Not everyone who builds a tiny house has intentions of trying to live off the grid. I think that's over-represented. And around the 25 minute mark there is a guy sitting his living room playing with a hand gun. I know you probably won't be expecting that. I don't know why they showed it.
I honestly probably would have fallen asleep but I was watching the Hells Angels one and it generally scared the poop out of me and makes me wonder what the hell is going on that I don't know about. I've never lived in a town without a 1% biker presence. Now I know why drug dealers were getting lit on fire in my home town while I was working at the hospital.
