Shit. I had a root canal/crown done in January and need another one. I want to put it off until January so that my insurance will cover most of it. But I am also hoping to be pg by then. Hadn't thought about all that. Crap.
I liked the Mayo-Clinic book, especially for technical answers. I also liked Your Pregnancy, Week By Week or something like that. It gave you information you needed without making you crazy and it gave me enough upbeat information to keep me happy.
I also liked The Belly Book for a pregnancy journal, if you're into that sort of thing.
For a funny book, The Diary of A Mad Mom-To-Be was really funny. I leant it to my sister when she was on mat leave and she thought it was hilarious and wished she had read it earlier. The title sounds lame, but I swear, it is funny.
And I just made my mirena removal appointment with an OBGYN one of the ladies from my local board recommended =) She is further away than I would like but when we move it may be closer to her office/the hospital she delivers at. If not, I have time to find a new doctor before I get pg.
having a great OB is key. I love my OB/GYN, we both got a little misty when it was time to start pushing with K and she said it made her day being the one that delivered her.
FYI, my ob told me that in my state (Ohio) it's required for a pap to be done during pregnancy. Doesn't matter how long it's been since you've had one. I asked because I had one in Nov for my annual and then got a bfp and had one in March again.
That is interesting, I did not know that. I wonder if it's required in many states.
I got a real kick out of The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy. I liked both the Mayo book and What to Expect. Maybe check some out of the library and then buy the one you like best. You want to have it on hand for playing 'what the hell is this new symptom'. Excessive saliva and weakened eyesight were two I had never heard of!
