It is INSANE out there! I took the 7:00 train in this morning (which was only 10 minutes late picking me up) and was dropped off at Back Bay at 8:40. The train was so packed that they stopped picking up passangers after Natick, so all of the poor Wellsley, Auburndale, and Newton people just stood there while the train pulled up, opened its doors, but had no room for them. My co-worker who lives out my way said that traffic was like the 7 layers of hell. I think I am going to leave to take the 3:00 train home so I can actually make it home.
How was everyone else's commutes? Hopefully not that awful. Is 9:20 too early to have an Irish coffee?

I drive between two suburbs North of the city. I was supposed to make a bank deposit but the roads were so backed up I couldn't get to a bank and get in for a 10:15am appointment. So I turned around to come into a message that my 10:15 was cancelling. Now I'm doing some miscellaneous tasks around the office and waiting for traffic to lighten up to go do my banking.
And it's snowing and it wasn't supposed to snow today!!!!!!!! Probably why there was so much traffic.

I feel so, so terrible for people who have to make the commute in this. I do not know how you guys do it, honestly.
The number of people who have posted comments on FB about their morning commute is insane. Take the train, you risk there not being enough room or the train not showing up, try to drive and you deal with hours upon hours of traffic with the risk of not having a parking spot when you get there.
Mine actually wasn't too bad. My usual commuter rail was on time, but was packed as they had cancelled the one before and after it. Then I lucked out that my Green line T was pulling up right when I got down to the tracks.
scm1011 - I'm shocked you had a good experience with the red line! Although you deserve it after they crap you've been through with commutes the last few weeks.
I'm WFH again today. My boss told us it was okay and I wasn't about to deal with the orange line uncertainty. I might try actually commuting tomorrow for the first time in two weeks.

You know what really pissed me off? I parked at the commuter rail train station last week and the plowing was not good. Because of that, you could not see the space number to pay. That row didn't have the hnaging parking spot numbers either. So, I paid for what I thought was my spot, but I guess it wasn't because I got a freaking ticket. Assholes! I just filed an appeal, so fingers crossed they accept it. Ultimately, it is only $7.50, but really it is the principle that gets me.

Thankfully, it wasn't too awful this morning - just over an hour. I'd kind of assumed 2, so I was "pleasantly" surprised. My coworker lives out near Beverly, though, and it took her 2 1/2 hours. Ugh. I really hope the next two storms blow over, but I've got a personal day on Friday, and we have Monday off, so at least I won't have to do the snow commute again. Once is enough.

I would have done the same. This kind of thing totally pisses me off.
Hugs, liveintheville! I hope L isn't extra crazy to deal with right now since he probably can't work off his energy as much as usual with the cast on.
It sucks. We can't go sledding, swim lessons, or on the giant climbing thing at legoland.

Beverly and the NS area was a gridlock this morning. Every direction I tried to go it was unpassable. I had my gps going and places that were 1.5 miles away that should've taken 5 minutes were saying 30 minutes plus.

That's super frustrating. The last few times I've just guessed on the spot number and haven't gotten a ticket yet. I've been using the mobile app, so not sure if that helps?

I decided to take an early train home to avoid the mass exodus at rush hour. They are saying this train is experiencing a "moderate delay." I'm hoping to be home by bedtime. Is it June yet?
My H had a doctor's appointment, so he decided to make the trek in. He is on amtrak, but he said a TON of people just got on the train at the 128 station (normally no one gets on there). His amtrak train is like standing room only, too.
My commute yesterday wasn't too awful. The route I take into the office is less than 8 miles away from my home and what should normally only take 20 mins was closer to 40 mins. Today it was 30 mins.

Normal commute in this morning. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop this afternoon. My director is seeing if everyone can just work from home tomorrow as a break from the commutes, which would be glorious.

Now that is a considerate manager. DH's stupid office keeps making people come in and then deciding to close the office early--so not helpful.
I know! I am really lucky. It must be really frustrating for you and YH.
