She's in BEC territory with me anyway. Now she calls daily to ask how we're handling the snow, bitches about the snow (she has none where she lives), and gave me unsolicited advice about our roof. I finally told her I'm 46 and H is 44, we know what we're doing.
And of course she called in the middle of my torturous commute to DD's school

I love my MIL, but she is a major judger and nagger. She just got a smartphone, so now she can effectively nag us via text. DH gets it worse than I do thankfully. She does mean well.

Ha! My mom does the same thing with the heat. It's soooooo hot. Mom, it's 15 degrees hotter here. And you almost never leave the house. Don't answer the phone. Especially when you are driving, you have an excuse. Do you have one of those apps that automatically responds? DH does. It says, "I am driving and will return your call/text when I can."

I called her after my drive. If we don't call back she either guilts us for not answering or assumes we're dead

Maybe you can play this to your advantage. She wouldn't try to contact you in the great beyond, would she?
