Preparing for a very long trip in Sept. Last night I bought a portable DVD player for DS but I don't have any kiddy DVD's. Like, zero. What are some of your favorite? PLEASE NO SAD DEATHS!
Oh, he's turning 2 next week and loves stuff with wheels right now: motorcycles, cars, bicycles, tractors, lawn mowers...
Ditto the shows recommendations vs movies. I'd do sesame street and blues clues for sure. My kid will also sit & watch a shorter video on repeat like crazy (see: cookie monster's version of Call Me Maybe), so try downloading some videos like that, too.
My girls have loved Yo Gabba Gabba and Wonderpets. Right now, they both like the Backyardigans and Super Why.
For movies, the most popular ones for my two-YO with zero sad deaths are Monsters Inc., Wall-E (he gets hurt but is okay), and Shrek. The only death there is the bad guy who gets eaten by the dragon at the end, and it happens fast and is played as funny, not sad or scary. There's one death at the end in A Bug's Life, but it's the evil grasshopper, so it's not really a sad one.
Cars 1 doesn't have any deaths, and if he likes vehicles, that's probably a good one!

The new Winnie the Pooh is awesome, I'd totally watch it even if DD wasn't around.
Her favorite shows are The Wiggles, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Super Why. The wiggles always wins though, I think she's got a thing for Anthony lol, when she wants to watch it she grabs the remote brings it to me and says "Aminy! Aminy"

My kids love Despicable Me (because the minions are so incredibly cute). Also, they enjoy Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2, Cars 1 and 2, Finding Nemo, Tangled, Robin Hood (Disney's), and Lion King.
For tv shows on dvd, they enjoy the Dora with the friendship bracelets, the Dora with the mermaids, the Dora where she's a real princess, and the Diego with fierce animals.
