"Joy" staring JLaw filming in Wilmington

It looks like a movie will be filming in Wilmington this month. "Joy" staring Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Robert De Niro. Hopefully the snow doesn't throw their schedule off track. If anyone in Wilmington see anything related to the move, please report back.

After confirming David O. Russell’s next movie Joy will begin filming in Boston this month, we have our first details about exactly where and when the shoot will take place.

According to flyers that were distributed in the neighborhood, Joy will be filming on Federal St in Wilmington, MA on Feb. 19 – Feb. 26. The notice also reveals the movie is filming under the working title Kay’s Baptism.



Joy, which chronicles the unlikely rise of Miracle Mop inventor and HSN regular Joy Mangano, stars Jennifer Lawrence, as Mangano and her American Hustle/Silver Linings Playbook co-stars Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper.

Joy marks the third movie Russell has made in Boston in recent years. American Hustle and The Fighter were both filmed in Massachusetts, too

I saw this too and am hoping to do a drive by as it will be in my neck of the woods!

I was in NYC when the movie Salt was filming. I watched them shoot the same scene over and over again. When filming wrapped I was walking back to my hotel. I looked over and Liev Schreiber was right next to me. I was probably more excited than I should have been.

I have heard that Jennifer Lawrence has been around Back Bay a ton and was working out at one of the gyms in the Pru. My co-worker and I were joking that we should start going downstairs to eat lunch (there is a pizza place we like right across from the gym she has been spotted at). She just seems like a down to earth, cool girl.

Kind of off topic. Bradley Cooper recently bought a house near my parents' house in PA. They see him in town from time to time and my mom said he is gorgeous in person and is so nice to everyone. He also owns another house about a mile from my grandfather in NJ. I told my husband that now that Bradley Cooper is up here as well, it is evident that he is stalking me and that we are meant to be. DH said he could have me I think he was kidding.

I haven't yet.  I was out of town this weekend and now both kids are sick so haven't gotten out much except to go to the Pediatricians office!

It looks like filming has moved to North Reading. However, the article below says they still have a sound stage in Wilmington. So maybe you still have a chance to run into a celeb or two.

My husband is totally jealous. Plus Bradley Cooper is a big dog lover, so Doug would come run away with us too.
