So last year, my husband's company switched insurances. It was a very uneasy time because we thought that it might mean we were not covered for ABA services under group insurance because it was under a private marketplace. We have a state mandate, but it is only through the age of 6. Back to this year when the coverage started, I called multiple times to find out exact coverage. I swear no one in one of the biggest insurance companies know anything about ABA coverage, state mandates etc. Well the first month's of my son's school (it is ABA based so it is covered and it's not cheap at 4k a month), were basically paid at 1/4 the cost. I was in a panic because there would be absolutely no way we could afford the school. So 4 days later and probably 5 hours of calling, I just found out that for at least this year, we won't be out of pocket other than our individual max out of pocket and that *hopefully* if my husband's insurance continues to by the insurance rider, he will be covered as long as my husband works there. Such a weight lifted.
