So, the gist of it is that I got my period yesterday so yet another failed, expensive cycle. I went into the doctor today and I have some cysts and a polyp that will have to be surgically removed. That is likely why I'm not getting PG b/c the polyp is blocking implantation. The doctor actually saw it when I first went in at the beginning of the summer and mentioned it at my inital appointment, but not since then. I wish it was removed before we did all these IUI cycles. I start birth control pills tonight to shrink the cysts (hopefully) and then I have to have surgery to remove the polyp at the end of the month. I go on vacation the first week in September (Disney cruise!!!) so I might not be back in time to start the next medicated cycle so we won't be able to actually start trying again until October. When I first saw the beginning of my period I started ugly crying and have been pretty much doing it on an off since then (although I guess less ugly). Embarrasingly enough, I cried (quietly at least) during most of my appointment this morning. I still have to call the insurance company this afternoon and try to get that whole mess straightened out. Ugghh!!
Thanks so much, everyone. Your support really means a lot to me. One small victory- I just spoke with my insurance and there was an error in my EOB, but all my procedures were covered, which is a huge relief.

I'm sorry you are going through this and it's pretty crappy your doctor didn't remove the cyst/polyp when s/he saw it because it can definitely interfere with getting pregnant. It happened to me. I hope you have an easy surgery and a successful IUI.
I didn't read the other posts, but do you think s/he will give a discounted rate on another IUI since s/he found the polyp before your other attempts and didn't suggest removing it?

Nonetheless, I estimate that we spent approximately $1000 OOP in co-pays and transportation costs.

Hugs. I'm sorry about the polyp and bfn. And then you have to deal with insurance crap on top of it. A good ugly cry was definitely warranted. Do you have someone to talk to in person?
If it makes you feel any better, we were supposed to be at Disney the first week of September, too. I was hoping to be pregnant. Now, we had to cancel the Disney trip, b/c DH is losing his job mid-sept... so, I'm not pregnant, AND we're not going to Disney!
