We dropped the paci cold turkey 2 thursday nights ago, so its been a little over a week without one at all. The first 2 nights were rough, she woke up 2-3 times and wouldn't go back to sleep. The 3rd night we did CIO with no checks and she went to sleep after on and off crying for 1 hour. She has pretty much been sttn since then. We are still having a few issues though.
-She wakes up at 5:30/6 every morning. She used to wake up at 9 when she had the paci. We have been changing her and giving her a bottle and she will go back down til about 7:30, but that's it. She goes to bed at 7:30. Even if we keep her up later she still wakes up 5:30/6. Anything I can do to get her to sleep longer? She had 1/2 days where she magically slept til 8 and she was like a different baby, so well rested.
-Naps are awful. She talks, plays, cries on and off for 45 min to an hour before she finally falls asleep and sometimes she doesn't naps at all. Then she is super cranky from being over tired.
She is 11 months. We are dropping it because we are tired of taking it everywhere with us and we could tell she was getting more and more attached so we wanted to cut the habit before it got worse.

Could you let her have it, but only in the crib? That is what we do. DS3 knows that when he gets up for the day, his binky stays in the crib.
If you don't want to take that step backwards (which I totally understand), I'm not sure there's anything else you can do to make her sleep in more.

I was hoping someone had a trick that might help but she woke up again this morning at 6. I'm conflicted bc I don't want to go backwards and she did great with naps yesterday and has gone down for night time without needing it and no crying. But the 5:30/6am wake ups are rough.
Now I'm kicking myself for cutting the pacis off the wubanub and if we go back we will have to buy more. Ugh
If she is going down at 7:30, a 5:30/6am wake up is pretty reasonable IMO. Sorry.
True, but she isn't always going down then. That's if she has her 2 perfect naps and she goes right down. When she was sleeping til 8 she was so much happier. And if she does go to bed later she still wakes up at the same time. A few days ago, she cried most of her first nap, slept for 30 min. Wouldn't sleep her second nap at all, cried and fought sleeping and finally went down at 9 to wake at 5:30. She was cranky for 2 days. There is no way she's getting enough sleep.

Have you tried putting her down earlier? Weissbluth recommends an earlier bedtime whenever there is a big change. It seems counter intuitive, but whenever we've moved DD1's bedtime earlier, she has slept longer.
