walmart. it's a cars 2 backpack and that's all we cared about. PBK? really? i'm poor. maybe for junior high, not for first grade. lol.
I'm so with you here!! Evelyn picked out Star Wars Legos Backpack from Walmart for 1st grade. Besides, after about 4 months, she'll be interested in something else and can pick out a new one b/c it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to buy a fancy paisley one from PB!~

I did not think the price was that bad! Like $29.50 but they ran a sale for 20% off or something like that...
Very well made too.
$45.50 for a large backpack, not incl monogramming. And most of the reviews say L is really regular sized, and the smaller ones barely fit a thing. But yes they are cute.

Oops. I bought DS the preschool one (he is 3). Not the regular size one. I stand corrected.
I do like PBK, but I've also heard good things about LLBean and Lands End.
I got DD1's at PBK last fall. It still looks brand new; she'll use it again this year, and I figure we may get at least to kindy before she gets bored enough to insist on a new one. I bet the one she has now won't even be close to worn out at that point.
It was like $35 or so, on sale. For a backpack that lasts multiple years, I don't think that's bad at all. It seems like a lot of kids' backpacks are around that $30 price point, unless you're getting the really inexpensive ones from Target or Wal-Mart.
Last year we got it from Target. It's still in one piece. This year from Hannah Anderson (or however you spell it). I expect it to fall apart after a month or two.
$20 at Costco. It was Cars and he had to have it. But we're talking second year of preschool here, this isn't getting heavy duty usage, pretty much just sending folders back and forth :-)
Dora from Target. It still looks brand new and they do woodworking at her preschool. Like she comes home with wood and nails in her backpack. She'll have the same one this year.
