I'm happy that my baby bump is starting to show, but dislike the lower back pain that goes along with it. I'm stuck on a long car ride an cant get comfortable.
(I just delurked in a different thread, ask me questions to entertain me please!)
Grandparents are crazy. MIL was already talking about me having a boy when J was like 10 days old.
I'm afraid I'm going to sound like a one-upper here, but my MIL is nuts and I have to tell this story.
She took me out for a shopping trip for baby supplies while I was pregnant. Everyone at that point knew I was having a boy. She tried to get me to pick out girl clothes " for your next one. You HAVE to have a girl."
I am already starting to get uncomfortable with this pregnancy and I am anly 16/17 weeks along. I am hoping it is just because my uterus is starting to climb upwards and quickly (if all the round ligament pain is any sign of it popping). We shall see what happens next week....
I want to get an "anywhere chair" for DS from PBK. I love them and I want to get his initials monogrammed on it. An when DC # 2 comes, I want to get that kid one too. It seems stupid to spend $250++ on some silly chairs for our little kids, but I don't care. I want them. I also want to buy bunkbeds for them (they will share a room no matter what the sex of #2). I want to buy all of these things TODAY. Is it too early for me to be nesting? Lol.
Ony 18 more days until we find out the sex. I cannot wait.
I want a vanilla coke so bad. I haven't seen any in Canada for about 10 years. Maybe I'm just blind and dumb, but I'm pretty sure they discontinued it here and it makes me mad. Vanilla coke is the shit.
"You're NEXT!!!" comments are the precise reason why there will be no bouquet toss at the wedding of Sprky.
That's why we didn't have one either.
That, and we were sick of being forced onto the dance floor for it. As in, we woud actively avoid being in the room when it happened, and they would stop, find us, and drag us to the floor.

Yep. Being over thirty and dating the same guy for a million years with no ring on your finger = Every "well intentioned relative" trying to force me onto the floor for that bouquet.
My mom was terrible with this. I had to start reminding her that the person who caught the bouquet at her wedding *gasp* never married.

I've been looking for a new big-ish toy to get my kid, and I am completely overwhelmed by the breadth of choices, and puzzled by the prices on these things. For $100 I could get her a fisher price front door, with a couple things that open & close, a little mailbox etc, oooor a leapster ipad knockoff. wtf.

We have the door - a hand me down from my brother's kids. My son loved it and the baby is starting to play with it. They are on Craigslist all the time for $25.
i don't even know why i'm bothering to argue against the MMer about financial security before TTC. i had financial goals before TTC. but i figured them out on my own, ffs! and i don't think that the downfall of america is that other people either didn't have such goals, or had goals different from mine! it's such headuptheass thinking.

my mil said to me during a phone call when L was less than an hour old (literally, we hadn't yet been moved to the regular room and were still in the delivery room) something about how that was a fast delivery and i must be built for it and the next one will be even faster.

It's a futile effort.
But people like us, cville, and our poor planning are the reason we have the amount of assistance programs in this country today!

Ironically, many of those who are responsible for the financial meltdown in the US were more than likely well prepared to afford children! So, really, the solution here is that only the wealthy should have children. So when they force others into poverty with their own bad decisions, there are no pesky kids to support.
