I'm reading Written in My Own Heart's Blood, which I finally concluded was never ever going to be released in paperback in the U.S. so decided to buy on Kindle on a whim. Kindle is such an enabler for that sort of purchase.
I'm also sort of reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (it's more on hold since I got WiMOHB) and listening to At Home by Bill Bryson.
My family wonders when I have time to read given how stressed out I always am at work, but it's almost exclusively on the bus to and from work and at bedtime so I don't understand how that's confusing. It's a fundamental misunderstanding. H doesn't read as much as I do but when he gets into something (like GoT) he reads very obsessively, so he understands me at least.
I'm about to start Live, From New York: An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live. It's been on my shelf forever, so I thought the time was right, given the 40th anniversary and all.
I'm listening to Yes Please by Amy Poehler and am loving it so far.
My DH is in awe of my reading. He's always been an audiobook lover, and I'm proud to say that since knowing me he's also gotten into the habit of reading at night before he goes to sleep! I honestly don't have many friends IRL that read like I do , but they are all accepting of my habit
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I haven't been motivated to start anything else.
I remember my uncle being pissed about me just sitting around reading when my grandmother was in hospice (for 3 weeks). First, there's really not much to actively do when a person is in hospice. Second, I was in college and I was actually trying to keep up on school work. ^o) He was kind of an ass, though.
My stepfather is totally down with how much I read. My parents are here and there, not really reading too much for pleasure, although my mom will read a book every so often and my dad loves non-fiction audio books because he drives a lot (50k miles per year). But I went to bed at my mom's house once and read for about an hour (pretty typical) and my mom told me stepfather, "Yeah, she's always been a reader. She's done this since she was a kid." Lol.
I just started Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. One chapter in, no opinion yet.
QOTW: To them it's totally normal because I have been a book worm since childhood. My coworkers tell me I read to much since I read on my breaks instead of engaging in work gossip.
A Poisoned Season by Tasha Alexander. I was ridiculously sick with food poisoning earlier this week and needed a comfort food book. It's enjoyable. I like it better than the first in the series.
QOTW: I don't think anyone other than DH and DD realize how much reading I do, but it's just normal for them. I've always been a reader -- my mom used to read to me even as an infant, so it's pretty natural.
Back Channel still. I really do like it, but a thriller about nuclear war is just depressing right now.
Also, Slightly Sinful by Mary Balogh. A comfort reread.
Yes. My mother thinks it a bit weird, but it doesn't really bother her. DP is also a big reader, as are most of my friends. His family thinks it's odd, but their opinion is not really interesting to me, frankly.
I'm finishing up Personal for my book club tomorrow. It was totally meh. I don't even know what there is to discuss. The terrible writing? The flat, emotionless characters?
I'm going to start On My Own Two Feet by Amy Purdy next. She's the double amputee who won bronze in snowboarding at the Sochi paraolympics and came in second on Dancing with the Stars. She did a live NPR interview with a book signing a few weeks ago and my son and I went to meet her.
I'm reading The Distant Hours by Kate Morton and enjoying so far. We're also watching a mini series that has some connections to Britian during WWII so it's been a fun overlap (bletchy circle for those that like suspense with a bit of historical thrown in)
My family is used to it, I've been a big reader since I was a kid. I probably get the most teasing from DH. Including when a book is really good and he has to remind me to put it down to go somewhere, or when I am "reading with my eyes closed" and he catches me.

I'm still reading Death at Sandringham House. I'm kind of in a slump, and even re-reads and books by authors I love are slow going and a bit of slog. I'm not sure what's got me in this funk, but I hope it breaks soon.
QOTW: My family and close friends read as much or more than I do, so it's not at all unusual to them. My coworkers thought it was crazy to spend 45 minutes of my lunch hour reading when I could be doing other things, including chatting with them. I even had one coworker who proudly proclaimed she hadn't read a book in 20 years, to me, while I was talking to another coworker about the book I was reading.
I started Maze Runner this week, the series was a Christmas gift from DH. I like it so far.
QOTW: My friends in book club understand, but I have others who just don't get why I enjoy it. My parents and DH also read frequently and find it normal. If I am cranky DH suggests I read a book, he knows the quiet, alone time makes me a better person.

Im reading a few
The Lovely Bones. I am really liking it. It is dark, i am aboout half way through. It is just so sad as well as eye opening
Parenting your Asperger CHild (LOVING it!!!)
Death Will Extend You ........i must have downloaded this by MISTAKE, i have no clue what it is and Im not really into it.....Its about a sober living house in the hamptons. They are on vacation and one of them washes up on shore, dead.... lol
I'm reading The Summer Garden (The Bronze Horseman 3) by Paullina Simons. I thought I had read the second one but turns out I hadn't so no wonder I am a little lost when they are referencing events from the second book that I can't remember. I didn't like the first book so it makes sense as to why I didn't read the second but since I thought I did I decided to try the third and see how it ends.
I haven't been reading nearly as much as I have in the past. My immediate family doesn't say anything about my reading. My teen is a huge reader and read about 8 books by mid week last week. She started reading them on Monday and by Thursday or so she has read that many. I'm impressed.
My sisters and mom don't get it. I'm the only reader amongst them but I've been a reader since I learned to read.
