He's breastfed, won't take a pacifier, and he will occasionally drink an ounce from a bottle. I've been trying to get him to take a sippy of breastmilk/water. I've had my mom try when I wasn't home, too. So far he's taken an ounce once or twice, but mostly he takes a sip or two and then refuses (same with the bottle).
He starts daycare in two weeks (he'll be 9 months). Tell me he won't starve. His brother started daycare at 13 months, but he had transitioned to a sippy (after also refusing the bottle) and he loved to eat, so I wasn't as worried.
We've had best luck with a rubbermaid juice box. I squeezed it with the straw in his mouth, and then he got it. He also does okay with an open cup, but I only give water that way because he always gets wet.
All I have to say is daycare is magic. They will get him to take a bottle, I promise.
Thank you. I know this, but it is good to hear. I went in last week and talked to them about it. I hope they also work their magic and get him to nap better in a crib (they did "fix" his big brother). We can only manage 30 minutes at time.
Layla didnt love the sippy cup the first 20 times. Now she loves it but only for water. When I put formula in there, she gets frustrated. Usually when she wants her formula, she wants it now! Sippy cup is too much work. Good luck
