How do you learn to create Different looks? No matter how hard I try to create a different "look" ( vintage, "dewy and glowing") what ever I always ending up looking pretty much the same with different eyeshadow colors. Are you tube tutorials the only way to go? Any other ways to learn different techniques?
I honestly just play around with it. I sort of blend like Tiffany D does, with the darker on the outer side and then the lighter, but with a fairly stark contrast in colors. So once I got the technique down, I just started mixing colors. I wear a lot of purple eyeshadow because I have brown eyes.
YouTube videos. H makes fun of me for watching 20-year-olds, but it's helpful. I also like to visit the makeup counters or Sephora and just ask "what's new" - they often love showing a new look, and if I ask, will show me step by step what they're doing. Of course this means I buy more crap, but what are you gonna do...

I like to pay attention to what the girls at the makeup counters and/or Sephora are doing. Obviously some of it is a bit outlandish, but then I go home and play around with my colors and try to recreate. Sometimes it's a look I wouldn't have thought of. My DH always laughs at me because before bed I do trial run of colors on the back of my hand to figure out what I want to do the next day
See I do try and play around but to me it always ends up looking pretty much the same I think I'll hit up you tube for more ideas I have my 5 minute daily face that works well for me, but I can't get my special looks to look much different.
