Can you believe February is nearly over? This year is just flying by.
What are you reading today? Do you like it? How are you going on your annual goal, if you have one? If you're doing the 2015 Ultimate Reading Challenge, how many tasks have you completed?
QOTW: What do you do in your spare time when you aren't reading?
So very thankful February is almost over. It is the worst month of the year for me and this one has been especially brutal.
I'm reading A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (and I just learned it's the first of a series. I was counting on a standalone, but oh well.). I'm not far but I like it a lot so far. Good on my annual goal: 21/100
QOTW: I like knitting, I love yoga, and I have some tv shows I enjoy watching. I really enjoy baking also. Might be a cinnamon roll weekend.
February can just suck it. March can do the same - at least judging by the first week's weather.
Currently reading: Mastering the Art of French Eating - interesting so far. I read a lot of food books and sometimes I feel like I have nothing left to learn. That's been proven wrong so far with this book. It is for my foodie bookclub.
The Art of Eating through the Zombie Apocalypse - this was from a post on the CEP board. Totally a book for preppers. Its kind of interesting though because that is just so far from who I am (I have enough food for the week, have no weapons other than a chef's knife, no survival skills whatsoever. I'm a city girl through and through). So, I'm learning a bit. And totally rethinking my zombie evacuation plan. Lol!!
Chamber of Secrets for the Harry Potter reading group.
ETA: Spare time - I'm a runner. I injured myself in December so took a little time off. Getting back into it now. I also like to cook and...eat.
I just finished HP and the Chamber of Secrets (again), so I will either start Prisoner of Azkaban (my favorite) today or... something else. Maybe Reached (the third of the Matched trilogy) or I might start the Gunslinger.
QOTW: I like cooking, beer tasting, movies, my cats and fixing up my house. I've been known to take leisurely bike rides in better weather.
I just finished Red Rising and liked it. I started Prayer for Owen Meany but am only about 20 pages in, so jury's out right now. I need to print out the Ultimate Reading Challenge- I've read 8 books so far this year and I think I can make them all fit into different categories.
I have an almost one year old, so reading is pretty much my only hobby right now, ha. We do have season tickets to our local college basketball team and like boating in the summer.

Welcome new members!
I'm finishing up Death at Windsor Castle, which is the last of the trilogy for the Ultimate Reading Challenge and then I will have checked off 6 tasks, with another three in progress. I am enjoying it, and finding it's been such a while since I read them that I do not remember whodunit, so it's like reading it for the first time again, though I do remember how much I loved the characters.
QOTW: I cook and bake, I'm getting especially good at yeast breads, which is nice because there is some built-in down time with those, so that pairs well with reading. I also do embroidery, which right now is in the form of felt stocking kits for my cousins'/friends' kids.
Hi, I'm sorta new. I was on the Nest with the same screen name, but I never really made the move to the national boards over here and I've finally done it.
I'm about 30 pages from the end of "The Escape" by David Baldacci. I was *so* tempted to be late back from lunch!
I'm not sure what's going to be next. I have "Be Careful What you Wish For" by Jeffrey Archer (I will probably read this first if DH is done with it) and "The Swimmer" by Joakim Zander out from the library.
In my other spare time, I like to cook/bake and I'm way too addicted to TV! We now live in CO near SIL/BIL/nephew so I love getting out for hikes and other activities with them!
I finished reading The Rose Project. I loved it! I'm on the wait list for the second book in the series. In the meantime I'm reading Into the Wildness by Sara Donati. It was recommended as another series to get into if you like the Outlander series (which I do!) I'm also still working my way through The Fiery Cross in the Outlander series. That book is really slow. Not boring, per se, but very slooowww.
QOTW: What do you do in your spare time when you aren't reading? I crochet, knit, and quilt. Right now I'm working on a crocheted ripple afghan. I got a third of the way through with the first one and realized I'd made some major errors. I put it aside and started on a second one. I have a couple of projects on the needles that I need to knit up and finish. I want to get to a couple quilt projects soon and start working through my massive fabric stash.
I'm reading Live From New York, an Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live. It's really good, told by the writers, stars and guests. I'm listening to Everything I Never Told You. Just started it, but it's good so far. It's #7 of the year. I really don't have a number of books goal, just to read as much as possible!
In my spare time when not reading, I love to do anything outside. Lately though we've been scrambling to finalize our vacay to Alaska this summer so that's been a ton of internet time.

I really liked everything ive never told you! It reminded me if orphan train a bit
I'm reading 'A' is for Alibi by Sue Grafton. It's nice and short, and I'm about halfway through. It's pretty dated though, particularly the use of land lines. It's fun to remember what life used to be like!
This will be #9 for the year, goal of 23, so ahead of schedule!
QOTW: I watch some TV shows, take naps with my kitties, I send/receive postcards via Postcrossing.com, and drink beer on the patio during warmer weather.
I'm reading The Litigators, John Grisham. I am enjoying it.
This year I only chose to read 20 books as my goal. Last year it was 60 or 65 and I hit it. This year I knew I'd be lagging. I'm 1 book ahead at 4 books for the year so far.
QOTW: I do Crossfit and run. Those are my hobbies. I don't do much else outside of that. Well, I watch TV too.
Kid Me Not: An anthology by child-free women of the 60's.
It is pretty good, not great. It makes me think though, I have had a lot of pressure because of my choice not to have children, I can't imagine what it was like making that choice in the 60's.
QOTW: I have a lot of things that I enjoy doing: shopping, writing, kickboxing, yoga, running, decorating. It's just that I don't have time to do them.
