It was great. The last time I saw it in a theater I was 20 and it was an anniversary of the movie. I have seen this movie countless times, but this was the first time I really laughed out loud during some parts and I finally caught on hat Melanie was pregnant a second time, not sure how I missed that the first 50 times.
There s something about watching with an audience that made the whole experience different.
This has been my fave movie since I was about 10 and when I saw it in the theatre a few years ago, I started bawling as soon as the theme song came on. Just seeing it on a big screen invoked so many emotions. I'm so jealous that you got to see it again!
I saw it in a theatre once, too. We had to sit in the very front row, and during the scene with Scarlett and the Tarleton twins at the beginning, I remember feeling that Scarlett's dress was going to leap off the screen and smother me.
It needs to be rereleased again, DH has never seen it all the way through.
I would love to see this in the theater. LOL about Melanie. They handled pregnancy so 'delicately' then; it's amazing that it's possible to watch that movie and not know her pregnancy killed her.
I think I always figured she had been weakened with her first delivery and that she just got sick. lol The best was people not only reacting to Clark Gable's impeccable delivery, but also the facial expressions. Vivien Leigh was the queen of the single eyebrow lift.
