“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
I'm so excited to start binge watching. A friend of mine got to be an extra on the show, he's one of the soldiers in episode 10, and there's even a close up of him.
We only watched the first episode, and we both couldn't remember what happened to him in the woods last season. Did Rachel attack him?
After not watching so long, I kept wondering if certain actors (like at the press conference) looked familiar because they were recurring HOC characters or because I had seen them on another show. I think I should have watched a bit of last season before starting.
We did the first 3 episodes last night. The syringe is definitely odd, and the sex scene was uncomfortable. Interesting dynamic is developing between Francis and Claire with her new role too.
We just watched the 4th episode. It's so crazy and ridiculous but DH and I love it! Very curious to see what happens with Stamper. I feel so bad for him.

We're through episode 3 or 4 (I'm sick and fell asleep at like, 9, last night and can't remember which we're on).
The sex scene was awkward and weird, but it fit their relationship to a "T." And besides the implication of a threesome last season, isn't that the first time we have ever seen Claire and Frank be intimate? I always found that interesting, since most shows with married main characters show, or at least, allude to sex on more than one occasion. It just fits their relationship really well, I think.

I thought breaking/frying the eggs might be a big eff you to the traditional First Lady jobs (like choosing the Easter eggs). But I was an English major and tend to find metaphors where there are none!

I couldn't remember either but I looked it up. He was trying to relocate Rachel but she thought he was going to kill her. She leaped out of his car and ran into the woods. He chased her. She hid behind a tree, beat him with a brick and ran away in his car.
I think she might be pregnant but then she had 3-4 shots? Odd. I mean I know she has had a number of abortions so I don't know if they want kids, but I am wondering?
I do not think Claire is pregnant, she has her eye on running for president herself so babies this late in the game are not happening.
I was so surprised Doug didn't die but I like the storyline he has and am so curious to see where it goes. Part of me wonders if he is out to screw Frank over, and part of me wonders if he's out to prove himself to get back in his good graces. We will find out!
The Claire/Frank sex was definitely uncomfortable. Honestly I was surprised to see them be intimate, as even with the threesome it didn't seem like they had sex with each other.
The political storylines are fucking crazy but I am so curious to see what happens.
I really should have re-watched seasons 1 and 2, I may do that after I finish this season.

they addressed this once. They don't want kids. And really, of any show, this one does NOT need to write in a baby. If they did do that, it's jump the shark territory. It was enough that the guy who lost his legs actually made Frank have feelings!!
With the syringe, I think it's a control thing in that he's not techniically drinking. by not putting it in a glass and taking a drink - he's justifying it/controlling it.
I thought of the sex scene as more of a control thing - like Claire got turned on seeing Frank so vulnerable and crying and weak. Which is weird to me - I thought she would be disgusted or angry. They for sure don't have a typical married relationship, which I think was clear from previous seasons.
The thing with her throwing up - I think it's nerves, TBH. It was something someone says to her at the start of episode 5. She's ambitious and it sounds like SHE wants to run for PResident eventually. She needs experience - but she doesn't have it.
She kind of forced Frank's hand and when he agreed, I think it was reality hitting her. Yes, she wanted the job. YEs, she needs the job for her future. But she really isn't qualified for it and I think the weight of what is going on hit her.
Or at least I HOPE that's it. If it's her PG.... I'm going to throw things.

I thought the sex scene was her way of making Frank snap out of it. Like she realized he was cracking and knew what he needed to regain his confidence, so she did it.

This is what I got from it too. She's like, take your commemorative Easter eggs and break and fry them.
Oh I agree that Claire doesn't want kids and they wouldn't be good for her political motivations at this time anyway. I didn't know if they would have her get pregnant and then she aborts the baby, etc. I could see that happening, especially with the abortion story line from last season.
