Sounds like good news all around! I almost teared up after the women's beach volleyball match. They were just so happy! I felt bad for the silver medal USA team, though. NBC did not seem to care about them at all.
My garden is a failure this year. I don't think we treated our soil properly at the beginning of the season. Bummer. I was so looking forward to home grown tomatoes again this year! All I've got is some cucumbers and bell peppers.
I am addicted to ice cream this summer. I think it is the heat. Right now I have 2 gallons of ice cream and 4 boxes of popsicles in my freezer.

Yay for beach volleyball and RnV's knee recuperation!
I started knitting again today. It's going to take me all winter to finish this scarf. It's my own fault because I want a lacy scarf and I suck at knitting, but at least it'll keep me busy throughout the winter

I also can't keep ice cream in the house for long. Of course, there's also an ice cream shop right down the street. . .
Like the rest of the free world, I'm watching the Olympics. It's women's diving right now. I have no idea how to evaluate it, or what makes a dive a "good dive," but it's fun to watch.
Liveintheville, I'm so impressed that you're knitting! Every year, I plan to start again but have yet to finish anything. It's really fun, though.
As I was walking home tonight, I realized that I recognize (and have secretly named) all of the cats in my neighborhood, but actually know and would recognize only two of my human neighbors. I love my neighborhood, though, because there's a huge group of kids who hang out and play. There are two boys who I think are brothers who ride scooters up and down our driveway. Do you all know your neighbors? I feel like most people around here don't. But maybe I'm just unfriendly.

I've only completed a couple super easy ribbed kid scarves. I tried knitting a lace scarf last year but it sucked and I kept unraveling and redoing it and in the end it was never completed.
I recognize most of my neighbors but don't know all their names. We do that thing where you say Hi and chat when you pass each other but neither party is ever addressed by name.
Yay! Another knitter! And bendability! Good all around.
We're wrapping up a 10-day vacation on the central coast of CA. it's just DD and me visiting my parents while DH plays war games in PA. We have had such a wonderful time. We saw my brother, SIL, and their 3 kids, including one who is just a year older than DD. We've eaten wonderful food and I found that my dad makes a kick-ass cherry pomegranate margarita Dad and I went sea kayaking today, which was a blast. My mom will cry when we leave tomorrow, but we'll be back to visit again in October.

Glad you're improving, Rock!
I got back from Chicago last night. We were delayed 2 1/2 hours waiting for our flight crew, which meant we took off half an hour later than the later flight we didn't book. (There was a 2:30 and a 4:30 - we originally thought about booking the 4:30, but then decided we'd just haul ass to get the earlier flight, since the trade show ended at noon.) It sucked, I hate United, and I will never fly anywhere again unless Jet Blue goes there. If you're going to fuck me sans lube, at least give me unlimited Sun Chips.
....apparently, I am still angry about this, heh.
I have today off, so it's a long weekend for the win. Tomorrow, we're going to the Jane's Addiction show at the Pavillion, and we'll probably be doing nothing else the rest of the weekend. I am excite.

No worries, Rock. We went to the Girl and the Goat on Monday (which was awesome), and the only other free night, we were both too exhausted to go anywhere. My colleague got room service, and I ate in the hotel restaurant.
