The worst? Crowded House. I love them, I do. But they came on stage 3 hours late and this was back in my working days. Coming on stage at midnight was unacceptable for this granny. It was at House of Blues, so we had been standing since 7. By the time they came on I needed to sit.
My first concert was the Go Go's with INXS, too! I would swear it was the summer between 8th and 9th grade so that would make it 1983 for me. Where did you see them?
I saw them at PineKnob in Michigan.
I checked with my sister (she took me, she was 20). It was summer f 84. I bet it was the same tour. ::virtual high five::
First was John Michael Montgomery when I was 10, so 1995.
Most recent was Rascal Flatts with Jessica Simpson opening, in 2009.
Not sure about worst. I haven't been to very many concerts.
My first was also John Michael Montgomery around that time too. I wasn't a fan or anything. My friend had some sort of connection.
Last: The Who when I was pregnant with DS1
Best: Pat Green at the House of Blues in New Orleans. We were right against the stage. He gave me a pick and held his guitar down for me to strum. I took the set list he had taped to the floor by his mic when the show was over.
Worst: Eddie Money circa 2008. It was actually awesomely bad though, like the geico commercial. He has no voice any more and is paunchy but he kept seductively pulling open his shirt. Good times.
What was your first concert? New Kids on The Block in 5th grade
What was the most recent concert? Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney
What was the worst concert? Garth Brooks. They were recording it for TV and the sound was awful. It was so bad that most people couldn't tell what song he was playing.
Oh, nice! My friend saw Beastie Boys open for Madonna back in maybe 1985. She was like "these guys just ran around in overalls and yelled". Little did we know how obsessed we would become with them.
That was my reaction to Lady Gaga. She played like 2 songs before the opening act (Natasha Bedingfield) for NKOTB in 2008.

I saw NKOTB when they opened for Tiffany! hehe. I met them back stage. if only I knew then what was to come a year later.
I saw Tiffany at knott's berry farm. It was free with admission lol
Last: a Marley & NOFX (yes, it was a bizarre combo) when I was pregnant with W.
Worst: the what's new pussy cat guy. Tom something? It was creepy because he was trying to be sexy, but he's super old. And I"got" to go back stage. He did have a cute band member though
OMG Tom Jones. I love him. He's great live! We can't be friends anymore :tears:

Noooooo the old pelvis thrusting was too much. I was afraid he was going to break a hip.
Last: I saw Boys to Men at Epcots Wine and Food but thu only played 5 songs. My last full, paying concerts was Bon Jovi
Worst: Up in smoke tour in high school but not so much for the show but for stuff that happen afterwards.
Best: I have a lot of close top 3 concerts but if I had to pick it would be the last time I saw Pearl Jam when they played at TD Bank/Boston Garden May 2006.
First - Weezer, I was 13. I can't remember who opened. Last - um, techcnially I took DD1 to see the Laurie Berkner Band 2 years ago. Lol. But, before that, gosh, I don't even know. I am not a huge concert goer. ETA: We saw Hanson (hahaha) when were at Epcot last fall at Food & Wine Worst - one festival type concert (the the y100 FEZ Philly gals) it rained and we were outside in lawn seats. It was muddy & gross. Concert was still a ton of fun, but nasty.

First: Hootie and the Blowfish. Most Recent: Michael Buble Worst: Busta Rhymes...I went to a small liberal arts college that hosted one big concert a year, and I think it was junior or senior year, he was it. My friends and I went, because there was nothing else to do, but yeah, it was bad.
My best was also at college, and I was totally surprised by it...the band Live. I was front row in a small venue, and it was just an amazing experience. I also got to see Maroon 5 like that, and my Adam Levine obsession was born...

Oooh, I totally forgot about Live! I might need to go dig through my old cd collection...

Dang you all have the same taste in music as I do! I love Live! We saw Ed solo last year and was literally like 5 feet in front of him, it was awesome, super intimate place. He's coming back later this month, we got crappy seats though. Their first album brings back so many memories, all the songs are so haunting, love it.
I also love me some Robert Smith. I missed out when they came last summer (it was a festival). I've probably seen them five times, last time at red rocks and I got a video of Robert doing a silly dance. I'll have to find it.
iheartthe80s I saw inxs like two weeks before Michael Hurchunce died
I saw Depeche Mode in Paris back in 2001, I think they made their live video at that show. It was pretty awesome.

First: No Doubt, sometime in high school. My dad got box seats from his company, and I invited a couple of girl friends. It was actually really fun, and probably one of the first times I just hung out with my dad after I became a moody teenager.
Last: Sheesh...it's been so long. We see Pink Martini most summers at the zoo concerts. I think we last went two years ago, when DS was a tiny baby.
Worst: I worked at a large regional fair after college, and helped with a few of their concerts. Alanis Morrisette was awful. Just a bitch. And she came on stage an hour late, cursed at the audience, and finished early. Just awful.
Best: We saw the Swell Season (the guy from Once and his band), and they were amazing. Glen Hansard is the most charismatic guy, and before every song he would tell some long and winding story in his thick Irish brogue. At one point he was talking about a fan they had met playing his guitar on the streets downtown, and he shouted out to ask if he was in the audience. He was, so they called him up on stage to sing with them. They sang Brandy, and it was fabulous. You could tell this kid was having the single greatest night of his life.
