Per Supergreen's request, I am creating a separate post. I am wondering what has come out in the past 2 years that is new and great and that I need for the new baby. I have seriously bought nothing for him. Actually, I bought one outfit and one pair of pajamas (with matching ones for E) because I felt sad he had nothing of his own. I would love to know about any new gear or must have items that were not around when E was born. Also, anything that I should just buy new for 2 that I am forgetting. 212 - you probably know.
I need some sort of bassinet/easily move able sleeping device.
I got rid of our big/bulky hand me down bassinet after DS2.
I assume baby will be in our room at first, but probably only for a month or two. But I also want it to be easily moved from the aster bedroom to the living room for daytime naps.
I'm assuming a rock n play will be the best option? We have a swing and small vibrating bouncy chair that will likely be in the living room. But I think a RNP will be the easiest thing to move around for sleeping, right?
It's like you guys are speaking a foreign language in here! Especially 212. It's funny how fast trends change when it comes to baby gear. I never hear anyone raving about Bugaboo anymore and they were all the rage ~7 years ago  Lol
I have a Bugaboo Cameleon and a Bugaboo Bee. Still popular in nyc!
I'm still also a GIANTS fan of the Lotus Crib by Guava Family for families that travel. I've tried all of them via borrowing from friends. Lotus wins for me by a lot for travelers.

And then other brands swing back around--like Britax was getting really stale, and totally resting on their laurels, when they made a few changes last summer that brought them back up to "contender" status.
If we have another, I realllly want the Halo Bassinest. It looks magical and gets rave reviews:
I'm excited for this. We borrowed an ARCS mini last time, and I loved having her right there on the same level as the bed, but I hated scooting down around it to get out of bed, especially post c-section.

Yep! I had the Uppababy bassinet and then the Pack-n-Play right next to my side of the bed, but also hated having to scoot down to get out of bed. Especially when I urgently had to pee... which was pretty much every time I had to pee in those early months. Edit: not to mention having the sound machine and all sorts of breastfeeding supplied on my nightstand... this thing has the white noise and storage built right in. MAGIC.
Dammit where was this thread when I ordered another PNP this morning? lol. FYI rikki, Diapers.com has a 25% off sale and includes the FP travel lite crib that catbus just posted.
ETA: So do I need to change my order and get the FP travel lite crib?
I actually posted about this PNP a few weeks ago to see if anyone had one. I am seriously considering it, even though we have a RNP and a top of the line PNP that we rarely used.

Pretty sure I'm going to donate our regular PNP because E's outgrown it anyway, then if we have another I'll get the ultralite when we need it.

I agree! And if anyone wants to use my referral link, you'll get a free sheet! Referral link
I love this thread. Our basement flooded a week ago, so all the perfectly good baby stuff we had from B is ruined. I will "have" to buy all new stuff for #2. I may or may not have a private registry started for potential #2 that I may or may not be adding all this stuff to as we speak.
