It was her 4 year check up. C didn't them until his 5 year check up. I guess the office had moved it to 4 (with the option to wait until 5 of course). I have a little girl going "whats a munnization and is it fun?". Yeah, she was not happy with the result
I'm sorry. In the end, do you think it was better that she didn't know in advance? Or would you normally not have told her in advance of the appointment anyway?
Poor kid! At DD's 4 year appt they mentioned that she would get some vaccinations at her 5 year appt. She is now terrified of her birthday. She totally associates turning 5 with getting shots. It is really pitiful and I could kick the nurse for saying it in front of her.

That's weird, at my DS's 4 year appointment he didn't initially have to get any shots - but I specifically req'd he get the chicken pox vaccine since he was old enough for it at 4 but they usually make it part of the 5-year-old shots.

I can't believe she is FOUR!!
I always told C, but she hasn't had a shot since 18 months so I don't think she would have had any idea what I was talking about anyway.

This is how I was. My mom kept telling me that at my 5 yr appointment I would get shots. It made the experience worse, because I had an entire year to work up to it. So awful.
My sister now tells her kiddos a few hours in advance, if that, that they are going to the doctor. She doesn't want to surprise them and lose trust by just showing up at the drs office without warning, but also doesn't want them in school all day feeling sick, dreading the shots.
My mom was so awful. "It's going to hurt". LOL and WTF

She said they changed because they wanted the kids to have whopping cough vacc early.

She just keeps says "my legs are broke"
Poor thing! At 5 I had shots in the arm. Do they do legs under the age of 5?
That happened to us this summer. Our old doc said he wouldn't get shots until 5. Talk about surprised when we went in for his preschool checkup. They treated it like his 4 yo checkup and said there was a shot the old doc hadn't done. Poor kid FREAKED out.
