My left eye was itchy and irritated last might. I couldn't figure out why. So I took out my contact lens, removed protein build up, tried drops, nothing helped. Finally while trying to see if I scratched my eye some how, I see this rogue eyelash. It looked like a short eyelash poking the edge of my eye. Nope. The darn thing started in the outside corner of my eye, grew over the edge of my eyelid toward my eye, behind the eyelid, and then back along my eyeball into the socket. I carefully tweezed out the rogue lash. It was more then half an inch long growing back into my head along the surface of my eye. No wonder my eye was bothering me. Now I'm wondering how long it had to be growing that way to be that way to get that long and completely buried back into my head. :: shudders:: Thankfully my eye feels fine this morning.
That is absolutely crazy! My eyes are watering reading that!
Nothing much here. Same shit, different day, with the added bonus of 6-10 inches of snow tomorrow. I have 6 episodes of beachfront bargain hunt and carribean life on the DVR to get me through the storm.
It was questionable what was going to happen, since my XH apparently cashed in some retirement accounts in 2012 when we were married and there is now an $1800 bill with "our" names on it from that. I've filed the appropriate paperwork to try to get rid of my responsibility for it, but there is no resolution on that yet. The IRS told me it was safe to file my refund since the case is on hold, but I was still nervous in case whoever I spoke with was wrong. Nope! I got my money! Now I just hope my XH actually pays the money he owes so this doesn't come up again next year.
Either way, this is a nice cushion to my budget right now and I'm sooo glad to have it!
I had a coworker crying to me this morning because her boyfriend moved out of her house to a town 45 minutes away from her, because his commute was 2 hours and he wants it to be more like 1. She may follow him. She was sobbing. She's like 55 years old. I don't really know her. I didn't know what to do with that one.
I'm working on a couple of really fun articles right now, which require a lot of research. Sometimes I wish I could post the link to MM so you all could see what I write and give feedback. Total history nerd stuff like the development of my town's history, when we started plantin street trees, etc. But fun!
It was 0 outside when I got to work this morning. Then I discovered that the gym was out of towels. Nothing like showering without a towel to start your day off right.
I had a great job interview yesterday for a job I would love to have but I don't think I'll get it because I don't have enough years of experience. I even found out during the interview that a friend from college works there.

Liking for the interview and connection you can leverage. Good luck!
I hate renting. We had issues with our freezer and it's taken 3 days in a row for me to get it fixed which means 3 days I've had to leave work to come meet the repair people. I cant wait to get the hell out of here and purchase a home!
I have lost 11 pounds so far this year! I'm hoping to at least get down to my wedding weight by our anniversary (7 more pounds by May). Ideally I'm hoping that I will be in the 100's by our vacation (11.5 pounds by May).
I'm so frustrated. The class I teach was bumped from fall of 15 to spring of 16. i really wanted a fall 2015 baby, but we delayed so that I could teach. Now we may need to push it back even further. Which may interfere with anther job I'm being recruited for, which would start in June 2016.
It would have been really helpful to have this information 8 weeks ago. I HATE how childbearing/ maternity leave benefits limits a woman's career mobility. So frustrating!

I paid my rent last night, and realized that it went up from $785 plus water to $848 plus water. Pet rent. Ugh. Also, the property manager is a dink. I told her I needed a 3rd set of keys for DD and she says "well, we only have a total of 3 sets, and 2 sets are checked out to you." Uh huh...that's why I need a 3rd set. For my kid, that happens to be home by herself sometimes. Yea. Duh. She then went on to mention that she noticed that we replaced DH's exploder (ford explorer, lol) and that the new car is in the lot, and that our lease states that we may only have 1 car per licensed tenant in the parking lot. I pointed out the the explorer was parked in front of the building, on the street. "Yes, I know, but you may only have 1 car per licensed tenant in the parking lot." I had to emphasize 2 more times that the vehicle was on the street.
I came across an article about daughters of narcissistic mothers, and it fits my life to a T. There is a forum and everything that goes along with it. After some research, I learned that the forum and the author are bogus, and that it's all basically a money grab. Boo. Fortunately, I was able to find some legit information. My plan is to read up on that this weekend. I am pretty sure that I'm going to have to cut ties with my mother in order to be sane. My dad just died in December 2013, so this feels like another kick in the gut.
We're preparing for a snow day tomorrow so everyone is scrambling to get things done quick...moving up Friday deadlines to today. I'm just waiting for emails and witnessing an interagency cat fight...thaaat...I think I started. So I stepped out of that one haha. Hey, I'm new...what do I know?
I haven't been able to eat much sugar due to a gestational diabetes diagnosis. But my sugars crashed today and I had to eat bread, cookies, some candy and a sugary drink to bring it back to normal. It was soooo delicious. The light-headed part wasn't so fun, though!
We've gone weeks and weeks where we've had NOTHING to do and we've just been laying around the house complaining about it. We've got a fun event going on tomorrow night that we've been looking forward to for over a month, and so we scheduled our tax appointment for the same day because then I can take a half day from work enabling us to get to the fun event in plenty of time.
Now there's snow in the forecast for tomorrow afternoon. And the secretary at the tax office fucked up our appointment so now we have to go in at a later time. Plus an elderly distant relative died earlier this week and FIL only got the info today that her wake is tomorrow and he wants to go, which means that MH has to take him because he can't drive and can't figure out how to take a train.
I know it's a FWP, and I have no right to complain seeing as how someone died, but it's amazing that we've gone such a huge stretch of time with no obligations whatsoever, and now suddenly everything is happening on the same day.

mbcdefg I hate when the stars align and everything happens at once. I'm sorry for your family's loss.
Another random: when brides come to my house for appts, I step into the laundry area while they change. I wonder what they would think if they knew I was folding underwear while I wait
