MIL was scheduled to come tomorrow to spend the weekend with us for DD's birthday.
Her one and only friend who can drive her to the train station doesn't drive in snow, and they're supposed to get some tomorrow. So MIL rescheduled her trip to come today. Yay, another day with her here *-)
Her friend just called and said she forgot to pick up MIL due to the change in schedule. So MIL drove herself to the train station, in fog and slick roads. Now no one is sure if MIL will make her train, or if she'll have to get a later one.
I am going to spend an even longer period of time with this woman who will recount to me her flakey friend, the traffic conditions, and the race to the train ad nauseum.
I am drinking for dinner as MIL talks about Chinese women who move to the US to give birth to kids with dual citizenship. And gives her opinion on the Tsarnaev trial. God help me.

Hopefully your daughter will keep her occupied and her stories will be limited. Posts like this make me so thankful my MIL is relatively normal and mild.
OMG, her hometown had 8" of snow, so she literally kept herself up all night worried that her furnace vent might be blocked by snow. The landscaper called today and said it was clear, and she's been talking about it ever since. But just mentioned offhand that her middle sister has COPD (!) Followed by, "I don't think I have it."
