We have a snow day and I am required to WFH. I have a love/hate relationship with WFH. I feel guilty if I step away from my computer to do other things but cannot sit here ALL day.
If you occasionally WFH do you actually work on things or just answer emails accordingly and do the bare minimum?
I work from home once a week. Which practically means a day off. We have NOTHING to do so nothing to do at home means doing laundry, watching TV, etc.
That being said - if I actually had work to do, I'd probably try to get it done as quickly as possible. I'd have no qualms about getting up and going and doing something else in the house for a few minutes here and there if I had the time. I'm not going to sit and stare at the computer just to sit and stare if I don't have something to do every last minute of the dya.
I WFH full time. I think it really depends on the type of work you do. I know my boss doesn't expect me to sit in from of my laptop for 8 straight hours. I wouldn't do that if I went into the office. I tend to log in earlier and work later than I would if I had to commute in to the office. I don't feel bad at all doing laundry, walking my dog, going the grocery store, etc. It all depends on what I have going on that day. I do have a corporate cell though that I get email and instant messaging on. So when I do go to the store, I take it with me for emergencies.
H has already been told to WFH tomorrow. Which kind of sucks because then I have to keep the girls out of his hair, which is particularly tricky with K.
My company wont let me WFH and it makes me crazy. If DS has a snow day, I have to take PTO.
I know this isn't answering your question. Sorry. I'm doing that a lot lately.
IF I WAS ABLE to work from home, I would do a good chunk of work and some fucking around. I would probably work MORE if I could WFH rather than me just sitting here on GBCN all day like I do now.

When I worked from home I would do exactly the same amount of work that I did in the office, except instead of f'ing around chatting with co workers or f'ing around on the internet I would do laundry, straighten up the house, etc etc etc. Basically anything I could do while going back & forth between the computer to check for important emails. If I had actual project work to finish, I would do that before starting anything non work related.
I actually do work things and find I can get more done usually because I am not constantly interrupted. I also have about an hour long commute each way so even if I do clean the kitchen and go get shopping done during the day I make up for it by not having to drive all over town. It helps that I have a dedicated office in my house.
I used to work at home full time now part time and do more as a wah than I ever did at the office but still do laundry dishes cleaning teach etc. with no office interruptions I work so much better. I can't imagine going back to an office. I get too distracted and pulled away lol
I WFH every day. When I have trouble concentrating I'll get up and do some chore really quick (10 minutes). My house stays pretty clean, my work is done. I used to feel bad when I first started but when I was in the office I'd get stuck listening to some story from a coworker anyway so what's the difference?
I do more then the bare minimum but I have no issues throwing a load of laundry in or cleaning the kitchen up quick.
I actually stay off the internet more at home then i do in the office. Weird right?
This is me. I get a lot of work done at home actually, but I figure ten minutes throwing in a load of laundry or doing a quick thing around the house is balanced out by the time I'm not chatting with coworkers.
I'm actually switching to full-time working from home after this baby is born because we are moving 2 hours away. I anticipate being more productive actually.
Edit: to clarify the kids will still be in school/daycare. I wouldn't be as productive with them home.

I work from home and like it, but I only get to work during naps so it's easier to have a specific designated work time. If I had 8 hours at home to work I'd hardly get anything done, but give me two 1 hour naps and I am a machine, lol.
I WFH twice a week. I don't really have a lot of free time but I do things like laundry, make dinner, play with my dogs and workout during the day. It's fantastic.
I put on Kelly & Michael and General Hospital while I'm doing emails if I don't have a meeting at that time.
I WFH 2 days a week. I do normal work. Some days I'm more focused than others, but that's pretty much the same as in the office. If we're doing a lot of interviewing, I'll often use my WFH days to start early or run late and get more interviews in. I usually have to work with candidates all across the US, so that is useful.
