So I finally got up a little motivation to do a little around the house. I was taking out my dress I am wearing to the opera this week and I found 2 full garbage bags of stuffed animals from when I was a child.
What did you do with yours? Did you donate them? Keep some? I am at a loss for what to do... I won't get rid of all of them, but I really don't need to keep 2 garbage bags full...
When I was 10 we got a puppy, and she destroyed most of mine. I only kept one, the stuffed rabbit I got as a baby.
I'm not sure I would donate, just because of the presence of dust bunnies and things, 20-year-old stuffed animals don't seem that appealing unless they are clean and in really good condition. I would probably go through and choose the ones that had the most sentimental value to me and toss the rest. I always had my favorites and others that I didn't like as much.
I still have them. They're in a basket in my spare bedroom closet. I'll probably put a few of them out in baby's room and store the rest in the attic. They all have sentimental value to me, I brought them to college.
I feel sort of heartless now saying I would toss stuffed animals, but I was always really hard on mine (like getting paint on them etc.) and they were in pretty bad shape even before my dog had her way with them. If yours are in good condition, then I can see it being harder.
I had all of mine until two years ago when H helped me sort through them before we moved. Now I just have the ones with sentimental value boxed up in the closet of my extra room. Someday I'm going to want to be able to give them to my kids to play with.
My parents have most of mine. I have one a college boyfriend gave me. I dont keep it for that reason. It's one of those build-a-bears. The guy i was dating got the sales girl to make it say, "Phi Mu says roll Tide." It cracks up my DH...plus its cute. So i hold onto it.
Sent from so-called "smart" phone. Please forgive any errors!
I had a few I gave to my uncle's dogs when I was a kid. They were like the fair ones I didn't care about. The rest are still at my parents house in the room I stay in when we visit for the weekend. I think I'll give some to E but I'm not really sure what I'll do with the rest. Some of them are sentimental, like my first doll that I was obsessed with for years!

Most donation centers wont take them, they just throw them in the dumpster. I take mine to a local nursing home where they use them as prizes for bingo.
I thought I only had my Kewpie doll (from my great-grandma), a stuffed lamb from my mom's baby shower for me, and a duck puppet. However, my parents showed up with a box of trolls and beanie babies today. I'm going to choose my favorites, then post the rest on freecycle.
My mom still has a bunch of stuff at her house but I'm not sure what. I know at some point she pulled out my My Little Ponies for my niece and she had no interest
I still sleep with the stuffed dog that I got the day I was born. He's in rough shape.
My parents got rid of most of them years ago. My mom did keep a lot of the beanie babies though, since they weren't really "worn" due to their supposed collectors' item status (huge LOL to that now!!). I have given a bunch of those away to students in the past, and there still are a bunch of the more "special" beanie babies, like the princess diana bear, in my parents' basement
