It's one of those online shopping sites where a "personal shopper" picks 5 items for you, according to what you fill out on your likes/dislikes/needs, etc form.
I have a friend that just did it and I have to say, the stuff was really cute. She even admitted that none of the items she would have chosen on her own. However, they were really cute. She was very specific that she had just had a 6 month old and was working on some baby weight, needed some stuff for work, etc.
If you want nothing, you send it back…but if you keep it all everything is 25% off. I am tempted to try it. Am I nuts?

If I had more money, I might try it with an open mind. Our budget is pretty tight and I'm also pretty picky about dressing my body type. It took me 30 years to figure out which cuts work, so I'd be hard pressed to think they could do a better job. But it would be fun to get a surprise in the mail.
I tried it but didn't love it. The first box was okay but I keit nothing, the second box was better but nothing fit, and the third box was awful. I called it quits after that. I'm short, short waisted, and clothes in general are hard for me. Love the concept though!

I've done about 5 or 6 boxes, and now I really like almost everything they send me. I don't keep it all though, as it is more expensive than I want to spend usually. I've probably kept 8 shirts, a couple dresses and 2 pairs of jeans. I like it. But it took a couple boxes for them to really get my size and style.
I think it sounds like an awesome idea. From what I've seen, it's more expensive than what I like to spend and every month would be too frequent for me...but I love the idea of it and you should totally try it and report back!
Yeah, even though I use Stitch Fix and like what I get, I'm not totally surprised by this. I've always assumed I could get the same stuff somewhere else cheaper. I didn't think the prices would be THAT different - yikes! I still like the concept - someone else picks things out for me that i'd never have chosen myself. I don't have a lot of time to shop for myself, and don't enjoy it a whole lot. But maybe I just need a trip to Nordstrom Rack...

I definitely think the appeal of stitch fix is having someone else find the item for you. But I think that instead of marking items up they should just increase their fees.
It sounds like a really cool service but I can't see myself soending money on something like that. I have been trying things outside of my comfort zone by buying pieces from capsule wardrobes on Pinterest. So far I've done the ones a blogger posts from target. It was easy and with my target card I had free shipping and returns were easy.

But if they increase their fees, I likely wouldn't try it. On the other hand, if I get something that's too expensive, I can choose not to purchase it and find something similar at a different store. I look at it like any other luxury/convenience item. I know I'm paying more, but choose to for the convenience (kind of like ordering groceries - I know they are usually more expensive than the store, but sometimes it just helps me out) To me, the markup IS the increased fee.
I will think more carefully about the items I get next time though.

I need more info on this please?
ETA: ok, I did some googling and searching on Pinterest. These posts are great!
The thing with Nordstrom rack is it is overwhelming to me. I'd likely never go outside the box in regards to my style which is why Stitch fix is appealing. Although, with such a price discrepancy it makes me think twice. Maybe I need to try the capsule wardrobe search on Pinterest too.
This. Along with the fact that we are a two income family, I work weekends and some during the week and our three kids all have activities to maintain. The days of having time to go to The Rack and browsing every so often are long gone. Well worth the money to have it mailed to me for me to try on in my world. It's a convenience I am willing to pay for.
Once I'm back to work full time, I would. I like that I wouldn't have to go figure outfits out. As fun as that is, I can't see myself having a tom of time to shop.
I have considered trying it. I love shopping, but the thought of spending hours looking for things, trying them on etc on a weekend doesn't hold the same appeal it once did.
