0.85 - I may have measured my hips wrong since I couldn't find the sewing measuring tape and used the kind of measuring tapes that you get at Home Depot. I am also Latina so... hips for days! ;-)
Realized I didn't post my number, it is 0.71. Despite my best efforts, I have only lost weight in my torso. I am convinced that Mirena is forcing me to hold weight in my hips & thighs =(
Oh my thighs...don't even start with me. The only thing that slims them down on the inner thigh area is bar method. Forget I've been a dancing my whole life! Granted, I'm not built like a ballet dancer, and I'm technically a musical theater performer, so it all works out but waaaah.
But are our numbers considered bad?? Now I worry...

huh. Well I guess I don't understand how this is meant to be less ambiguous than a BMI then?? I mean, I know what I look like, I have a flat stomach and am toned fairly well except for the aforementioned inner thighs a bit, and my arms could be better, definitely. I know in terms of lbs I am right on, and my doc has pointed out I could gain 10lbs and still be in "safe range", but according to MYSELF, I need to lose weight/tone further....so, what is this little exercise meant to establish for me exactly if .75 is the target area?
Not trying to be snarky; genuinely don't get it! haha

I danced for 10 yrs! Ballet mostly, but then in high school, hello T&A and hips! But I switched to musical theatre and jazz so I kept it going through college. I'm not slim or built like a dancer whatsoever, but I do still got the moves. I actually met H in a salsa class
The most dancing I get nowadays besides with H is Zumba, to which I am ADDICTED, Belly-Zumba (which is a belly dancing/Zumba combo that's crazy fun) and Burlesque.
However, our new office is near ABT so I see the ballerina girls walking to class every morning. I looked online and the Joffrey offers ballet classes for adults. I am seriously thinking about it, though thought of putting my adult body into the leotard and tights might just make me want to hang myself from the barre.

DOOOO IT!!! Look, I may be smaller than the average bear, but I'm no ballerina body. Not at all. I got women bits! Jazz is actually what I'm best at, and I tap and enjoy lyrical too, but ballet is my fav.
If you did it for 10 years, you have got to miss it. And you're in NY, good grief! If I lived in NY I'd certainly be taking a lot more classes than I can/do here. I took an Alvin Ailey workshop in the new facilities on my last trip out there, and you can bet that'd be one place I'd be frequenting for sure.
I took a year away from class (year leading up to my wedding) and when I came back it was like a great big happy sigh. You're home at the barre!
It felt so good to be back in class again, and to do something for myself. I just recently got new tights, warmers and a leotard actually. You can doooo it!

I took some ballet classes senior year of college in the local community, it was amazing. I still remember walking back to my crappy apartment in the snow listening to the Nutcracker (FAVE) coming home from class. I'll consider it, depending on budget.
Burlesque is CRAZY fun. I love any workout I can do in heels.
