The ghostly racing stripes make me LOL, but the style of it isn't that bad. The older versions cannot be beat, though, they are classic!

THANK YOU. Oh my god. I HATE them. So ugly. But fun to punch MH in the arm/leg when we see them.


Also, my H has been to a bug "demo derby" in Cali..they hold them all the time..bug races, seeing if they can destroy an engine, etc.

I wanted a beetle so bad. Almost got one (pre-prius) but i found out since most of the parts are plastic, they have a tendency to break

Meeeee too! I have a whole collection of die-cast models of VW Beetles and Buses (nerd alert!). I settled for a Jetta, because I didn't like the 2000-era version, but I do like the newest ones!

They have a Porsche-esq look to them.

Urm, D's granddad definitely has a 60s VW bus that he will inherit. He's super excited.. I've never been in it. It's in dire need of restoration.

My mom had a bus when she lived in San Francisco and she rolled it-- all the way over and back up on the wheels. It was totally flattened, but somehow she walked away unharmed. She told her parents she traded it in.
