So I got one yesterday because I was having a major craving for one and it was DISGUSTING!!! It tasted like nasty minty mouthwash with a horrible after taste.
I don't think I've had one in years and for me to actually stop at a fast food restaurant is almost unheard of. Did they change their recipe or am I just remembering them as tasting better than they actually were? I feel like I wasted $3.21.
I had one a few weeks ago after not having had one for years and also thought it wasn't good. I told H that I think they bring things like the Mcrib (gag) and shamrock shakes around only every so often so that people will buy the disgusting crap because we think and remember it as tasting better than it actually does.
YES, I've been complaining about this for the last five years or so but no one else has seemed to notice. The Shamrock Shakes used to be their own flavor, like chocolate or strawberry. Now it seems like they just do a vanilla shake and mix in some nasty mint flavored syrup. Plus I HATE that they put whipped cream and a cherry on it. Cherry with mint? NO.
H laughs at me every year because I get irrationally upset about this.

They started doing that with all their shakes, though. I just refuse the whipped cream and cherry.

In fact, I think they might even flavor their vanilla shake with a syrup. I was also thinking that it used to be its own flavor, but I just wasn't sure.

I know, I don't like it with any of their shakes. But especially not the Shamrock Shake. It was perfect how it used to be, their "improvements" have ruined it.

Not imagining things. Whatever they did to them, as soon as they started coming in the McCafe clear cups with the domed lid, they were bad. I still get one for nostalgia's sake, but they are not the Shamrock Shake of my childhood.
Dairy Queen has a grasshopper pie Blizzard that sounds like a promising replacement...perhaps I'll do some research on that tonight
