Can anyone tell me more about this? We currently don't have an account with USAA. Do we need an existing one or can we open one? Would I need to take care of all of the leg work before going to a dealership to purchase the new truck?
USAA is spectacular. I love them. I think you need to have an account with them, but it's super easy to get. Their customer service is wonderful, so just call them and ask what they need.

Thanks ladies. I applied online for the car loan. I really just wanted to see what we would be approved for. I think we might be able to spend a little more than I thought, which will make E happy!
As much as I love USAA; I was actually able to get a lower interest rate from another bank. But, it probably didn't hurt when I went shopping knowing what my (fairly) low interest rate that I had already been pre-approved for (USAA) so that when the contending bank came back with an even lower rate I, of course, snatched it up.
We had a USAA truck loan before we ever used USAA for anything else, and we received a great rate for the time. Now it's not as competitive, but it's almost paid off so we don't care. Our car is through someone else though because the rate was lower.
I love USAA's customer service. They are awesome. We have the truck loan, our home/auto insurance, a credit card, and banking accounts with them.

Just wanted to mirror what other people are saying. Both of our car loans have come from Navy Federal because their rates were better than USAA during the times we purchased. Make sure to shop around for rates before you make a final decision!

Well it looks like we might not need a loan anyways. They are going to attempt to fix the truck. This makes me happy and sad all the same. But thanks for the advise ladies!
