So what I don't understand is how some military wives let their husbands rank go to their head. Your husband has the rank not you. I understand that the higher rank your husband has the better you get treated in certain places but that does not make you a better person than me or anyone else. This all came up from a command picnic we had to attend. There were a group of officer wives sitting at a table staring at me and one other wife (our husbands obviously not officers). The kept making very loud and rude comments towards us about how we shouldn't even be allowed near their table and other stupid non sense. So I walked right up to her and confronted her. I think this was the first time anyone had met her face to face before because she had nothing to say when I walked up there. All I told her was if she had a problem with to bring up to me so we can fix it, we're at a family picnic and she should be ashamed of herself for acting like a child when she should be setting the example for the children around us. I've been doing this military life for 5+ years now and never have I ever encountered such a group of wives that would rather put other wives down then form a bond. They need to stop acting like they're in high school. The military life is not cut out for high school teeny boppers. And walked away. (Told you it was long) Nothing annoys me more than wives that act like this.
Didn't she just handle it well, though? "You are a bunch of ninnyhammer juvenile jerks and you're horrible military wives and I feel sorry for your husbands!" Turn and flounce.
I went over there. I can't get worked up over there. But I was on TB a few days ago and saw a wife use a bunch of "WE" when it was not a "WE" situation at all. We signed on for another couple years. We deployed. We put on rank. We fly planes. We hate rolling our sleeves. We forgot to put our cover on and got our ass chewed out.

Wait, I'm not supposed to snark on the 19 year olds who are wearing last year's revealing prom dress and are obviously tanked before they show up? Oops.
On another note, I don't care what H's rank is, but I wish the contractor guards wouldn't salute me. It's weird and uncomfortable. 6 years of marriage, and I've encountered that for the first time here.
I once went through the gate and I usually joke around with the guys. The two cars in front of me were officers so when I went through with my contracting CAC I asked them where my salute was and he thought I was serious. He was trying to glance back at my ID thinking I was an officer. Poor kid. Joke fail.

The only thing I say as 'our' or 'we' would be pcs orders and even then I know that's not right so I find myself correcting myself. I keep meeting wives who refer to themselves as in the military and it drives me batty.

I say I married the military As in why does your work history suck so much? Oh, I married the military. It's good for a laugh.
I don't think it's inaccurate to refer to "our" orders since our names are actually on them. And they do kinda determine where we live. Actually, I got orders just for me, twice
Didn't her acting like that make her fall in their path?
I managed not to be rude to the woman at the last BBQ beach thing(can't think of that word) when she ran right into me and didn't apologize. I tried to say sorry and she just looked at me and walked away. The women here are rude, so I keep to myself
