I received a 1st birthday party invite in the mail recently. My dumb question, what types of presents do you bring to a 1st b-day?
As parents what items did you like, not like, and/or want to destroy that your LO received at their 1st b-day? Would it be weird to ask if they have a registry/Amazon wish list when I RSVP?
Walking toys like push carts with activities on them. Not activities that make noise though. I hate toys that make digital noises. Musical instruments are fine. E got a collapsible tunnel thing in a cute stripped caterpillar theme and she still plays with it. Books are great bc this is when they start to sit still long enough to read. Simple baby dolls are great as well.
I give zoo or aquarium tickets as a gift. Sometimes I do a membership to one of those. Just at Christmas this child got SO MANY TOYS. His favorites toys tend to be his socks, my shoes, and any dog toy. He isn't much for his own toys. So imo toys are a waste of money

Digital noise is a big no for us (I echo ilovebed). Books are great, but get a gift receipt in case they already have them. Clothes are great, but try to get either the size they are or a size larger so they can grow into it. It's so hard to get clothes that JUST fit now, and they won't be able to wear it in a month because they grew out of it. So says the mom of a 6 month-old in 12 month sizes.

Agreed, but ask what size they want. E is just outgrowing 12 month clothes at 19 months. I got a bunch of 24 month clothes at Christmas that will just be sitting in the closet for like a year.
books and/or art supplies. at age 1, you can get color wonder stuff by crayola, so it's not messy...color wonder is expensive though, so a very welcome gift.
