It's been 100 every day for the last week and when I came home from work Tuesday, my house felt like an oven, even with all the windows open and the fans on (I don't have AC). Lauren didn't even get up when I walked in the door. I took them outside, soaked them with the hose and tried to cool them off. They rarely go to daycare because they don't love it and it's $$$. At this point, I'm paying them for their AC.
I sort of feel bad because they are SOOO tired from 2 days in a row at daycare, but we are still in the middle of an Extreme Heat Warning, it's going to be 100 with 70% humidity again tomorrow, and I'm worried about them being home alone. At least they are getting better "daily reports" from daycare! This is when I really miss my old neighbors who would let them out and cool them off.

My not be much cheaper, or any fun, but I work at a vets office and we'll have clients ask to board their pets with us for the day during really bad heat waves.
We have central a/c but hate keeping the whole house cool when we aren't home most of the time it is needed. We bought an a/c window unit for just the bedroom and keep them in there with the door closed to stay cool. Is it an option to get a small unit for them?
