We had a spiral staircase in our last place and never again, you can't get large furniture up and down. We had to take it up/down over the balcony which was not fun. They look cool but they are not functional unless you're not planning on bringing much up it.
Extra outdoor stuff is so fun....kitchens/bars, water features, fire pit, etc.
Some of the features I loved about our house when we bought it turned out to be not so great. For instance, the marble floor in the master bathroom is extremely cold in winter, and the vaulted ceiling in the bedroom looks impressive but just causes it to be really cold in there all winter too. The bedroom is the coldest room in the house. Sometimes simple is better.
Things I would like in a house: a huge shower with dual showerheads, more cabinets in the kitchen, a bigger garage to house H's tools, hardwood throughout instead of carpet, a covered patio, and some sort of water feature outside. At this point I'd be ecstatic just to get a fenced-in yard to keep people from letting their dogs poop on my lawn.
I agree with HoneySpider about the spiral staircase. We had one in my house growing up. It is impossible to move furniture up and down that thing. Looks really cool though.

I always wanted a window seat. I also would love a wine cellar (even a small one), and some sort of water feature like a pond or something. Oh and I like hidden rooms too! I once toured a really nice house and one of the cabinets opened up to the laundry room and I think a bathroom. It was awesome!
