I lusted after that thing for 8 years before we moved to a house where we could actually put one...very happy with it, no moving parts, so nothing to break really and it's very solid.
Things to consider:
1. It's narrow. We intend to eventually use it as our kitchen table so this really won't be a huge issue, but right now it's serving as our dining table and there wasn't room for serving dishes and plates etc. when we hosted thanksgiving. I pressed a table I have in another room into service as a "buffet table" between my LR and DR and that worked. I also have a small collection now of narrow/small vases etc so that I can still make it look pretty but not take up much room.
2. It needs to be waxed. This does not have a durable finish on it, so spills need to be cleaned up quickly or it will mark, and it needs to be waxed from time to time. We don't have kids, so our table is as yet unblemished 4 years later, but again, eventually this will be my kitchen table and once it moves to that location I think it will eventually get some marks on it. For me, I've chosen to look at those as the laugh lines on the table and move on. It will show us that we lived - it's not a museum piece. I could put a table cloth on it or something but to me the beauty of the basque is that expanse of rustic wood so we use table mats.
3. The chairs are enormous and heavy but surprisingly comfortable. I thought I'd eventually buy the cushions, but haven't...no need to. 2 hours at Thanksgiving in them, and everyone was still happy including my regularly grumpy FIL.
Happy to answer specific questions if you have them, but I'm really glad we made this purchase....btw, it goes on sale all the time, so if it's not on sale now, wait!
How low does it go on sale for? We do have three kids so I will have to think about the water marks. We saw it in store a few years ago and I loved it and we moved so now we have the space for it. Our nearest store is over an hour away so we will have to go look at it again. What color did you get? How often does it need to be waxed? The other option we are considering is having a reclaimed wood table made.
I have that table I think! I did get the honey and I'm in love with it. It serves as our kitchen table and I wax it a few times a year, but it's not a big deal. Since having kids it does have some marks, but overall it's not too noticeable. I knew when I bought it that kids would one day mark it up. Lol. Other than that the quality is great IMO.
I bought the Taverna table 2 years ago and love it. It's made from reclaimed wood, so I didn't wax or treat it in any way. I just wipe it with a dry lint-free cloth.
I have a Mango Wood one (not sure of the design name) that's about 10 years old. Something has happened to the finish lately, but I blame improper cleaning and/or kid use because it was perfectly fine until recently.

We have the Cabria in the dark finish. It was between that and the Basque. I decided that I wanted it to have a leaf, which is why we went with the Cabria. We have had it about 3 years and really like it. Admittedly, though, we don't use it very often and when we do, I always have a pad and tablecloth on it.

The one I'm looking at is made from mango wood. If we get it we will have to make sure we keep up with the waxing and cleaning although with three kids who knows how it will end up looking.

We have had the Big Sur for 7 years. Even though it has some marks, when my kids get old enough (now 5 and 2), it's thick enough to sand down to remove. I love it! I have quite a few pieces of C&B furniture and they seem to survive better than other big chain brands like PB and West Elm. Good luck!

We have the Basque table, and I love it. It's good size and looks great. BUT, it scratches SO easy. Like, we had someone come to do an energy audit on our house, and he sat one of his fairly light camera cases on our table, and when he picked it up he dragged it just ever so slightly and there is a huuuuge scratch across the table. I feel like I need to cover it with a table cloth all the time to prevent scratches, which completely defeats the purpose of buying such a gorgeous table!
I did, we had the Kipling pedestal table, it served us well for ~5 years. The wood was a little soft and prone to scratching, so I kept it covered with a table cloth. It suffered an early demise when our chandelier fell from the ceiling and crashed into it. The force of the fall sheared off one of the table's legs. If not for the freak chandelier accident, it would still be in my dining room. I was pleased with the quality for the price - the collection was one of their moderately priced offerings and I felt it held up well.
