I took PTO today. I've had a migraine since waking up yesterday. I finally got out of bed about an hour ago because I thought forcing sleep might be making it linger. So now I'm watching Friday Night Lights reruns and eating a TJ's Chocolate Chip cookie ice cream sandwich as my first meal in a while. At least I'm making the most of the day off!
I'm up right now but going back to bed once I put E back to bed. My life is so boring right now, lol.
We are getting a disc of the images but I took a screenshot of one of them on my phone to AW I really think they turned out well for quick studio pictures! I hope this isn't huge... I'll have to fix it later if it is!
I'm still in bed. I need to get up soon since it's laundry day. Later it's workout time and I need to get everything ready for work tomorrow. I only have a few more weeks of these 18 hour shifts. I am so looking forward to going back to 12 hour shifts.

I was sleeping poorly all week and finally had a really good night's sleep last night. Woke up with a headache though and now I'm having a hard time getting going.

Ice cream is apparently what I think will help that!

I'm at work and not even awake. I read this as "I need to get up and get a spoon." I was all WTF? Sorry about your long days that sounds shittastic. I can commiserate with crappy work schedules. It's pay day for me and I praying to god that my boss didn't fuck up my commission. If he did my check is going to be like $400.00 Short.
wanderingenough SO sorry about the migraine! I hope you feel better!
I've got the crud. But it's new hire Monday, so I have to suck it up. I really, really, really HOPE I can get approval to leave after I give the tour this afternoon. I feel cruddy. I couldn't sleep last night either with the stuffy nose. Blah.
Bodies are so weird. Last week, I went out drinking with a friend Thursday night and had bar food, plus pizza on Saturday and I lost three pounds. This week, I stayed in my calories every day and I lost 1. I'm still happy because a loss is a loss, but this makes zero sense to me.
One of my staff I supervise is super attractive. Like, I'm probably way more attracted to him than I should be, lol.
Apparently DH is sleepwalking. He woke up on the couch last night and found some of his stuff on his desk in his office like he had been in there too.
A week or so ago he came to the living room during a night feeding and started talking about a bunch of stuff that didn't make sense. He over stressed.

((hugs)) bk1. Hope you guys can still close this week. Sorry your DH is stressed- newborns are stressful enough...that plus closing on the house must be really hard.
bk1 ugh...so sorry! That is frustrating! If it's any hope to you....we had a similar situation. But they got it completed at the very last second and we were still able to close. (Our buyer and her agent dropped the ball on some paperwork.)
FYI ladies! Free small vanilla ice cream cones today at Dairy Queen!!!
Glad I don't work there anymore, I'm sure it's crazy! Our DQ is on the complete opposite side of town from us. I'd have H pick some up but it would probably melt by the time he got here, lol. Oh well!
I'm on this big cleaning bender right now. Every time I think I'm done I remember something else I have to do.
estrellita Cute family pic! wanderingenough I hope you feel better soon. bk1 I hope you can close this week. That will be a big relief! When we bought our house, everything was down to the wire and it seemed like it would be postponed, but somehow they managed to do it on time.
MrsMB - I hope you feel better! I always seem to find myself feeling crummy on new hire Mondays. I'm convinced that the bugs going around my office keep an eye on the calendar or something.
Thanks katespade !! I couldn't figure out what I was so exhausted over the weekend. I woke up and couldn't swallow today....and it ALL made sense.
I know they promoted my boss because she has exceptional HR skills. This is her first Manager/Director role as she was an HR Generalist before this. But every month that goes by, it really seems they hired her because she can't tell them, "no." It's every company's dream to have a "yes man" as their HRD to do their bidding. She won't stand up for what's right in recruitment and that is big time bugging me. Big time. There are so many instances where she is ignoring the obvious in terms of retention...just sweeping it under the rug.
I got trapped in a car wash at lunch. Both doors were closed and the water turned on for five seconds and then shut off, and nothing happened. I was freaking out because I was positive that the second I opened my car door to investigate, the wash would turn back on. I googled the gas station number and called it, and the woman only spoke Spanish and hung up on me. I started to get hot and feel like I couldn't breathe, which was really fun. Finally, she came out and opened the garage door and made me go through and try it again. Fortunately it worked. At least my car is pretty now!
MrsMB - That sounds so, so frustrating! It's like you just want to shake them and say, "What is the point of HR if you're just paying them to tell you what you want to hear??" Did she come into the company as the Manager after being a Generalist elsewhere or was she promoted up from Generalist?
krystee That might just be my new nightmare! how scary!!
katespade She worked here for about 2 years (before I got here as) a Generalist. They promoted her to Director. Now, I'm NOT saying I should have gotten the position. I came into this role with recruiting knowledge only. I was new to HR.) They have the ideal dream scenario. She's not going to tell Director level up what they REALLY need to hear. It's scary too because they are doing some questionable things here....
Waiting for the vet to call back. Max had diarrhea early this afternoon, then throw up his lunch two hours ago and just had diarrhea again. I feel bad for him cuz he's so little. He's slept a ton today too.
