Don't take my advice because I went on my first pp run at 4 weeks (GRANTED, I was slow as hell and much of it was walking/running). But I didn't really get into a real fitness routine and start to feel completely comfortable until more like 6 months pp.
Well I am 6 weeks PP and am back to CrossFit. It sucked because I am out of shape and neglected cardio bigtime while pregnant, but the scar area barely bothered me. I will start running this week, but it will be super slow!
I didn't do much of anything except normal walking until 7 weeks. I had a rough recovery and the incision site felt weird for a long time. Plus I had/have joint pain so it's hard to do stuff that was easy before. I would say at 5-6 months I could work out without as many modifications but I'm still not as strong or flexible as I used to be. I joined a gym so I can work out at lunch now so hopefully that will help.

Whoa girl yay! Are you able to do burpees and stuff? I'm so paranoid about the scar/incision.
no prescribed bupees yet, and I am not about to volunteer for extra ones
Will keep you posted, so far wall balls and jump rope were fine.

I started walking almost immediately after both c/s, and increased the length each day.
However, waited until I was cleared at my 6 week appointment after my 1st c/s before starting "formal exercise". Then I spent about 2 weeks doing non impact stuff like the elliptical and bike, before I began running at 8 weeks PP.
After my second c/s I started walk/running around 3.5 weeks pp, and was back to running 3-4 miles at a time a week later. I stayed more active during my second pregnancy, plus I had a better frame of reference for what was normal discomfort vs. something to be concerned about. It felt good to get back into it.

I felt like I could run 2 weeks post c/s. I was released to run (and everything else) at my f/u appointment at 3 1/2 weeks. I felt back to normal almost immediately. My c/s experience was really easy...part of me wants to do a RCS with our second and the other is afraid it can't possibly go as smoothly.

I had a really easy recovery so take what I say with a grain of salt. I was walking 3 miles a week after, I was doing the elliptical at 3 weeks and ran at 5 weeks. When I went in for my 6 weeks apt my Dr. said " I probably don't have to tell you that you are released to exercise because I get the feeling you are all ready doing it". I was doing a boot camp class at 9 weeks.

These ladies are putting me to shame, LOL. I didn't really start to work out (besides stroller walks) until 8 weeks. DS was down to one wakeup for a couple of weeks, and things just seemed more manageable then.
I just ramped my DVDs down at first - light lunges, shallow/slow kicks, planks on my knees.
I remember around 10 weeks, I went to Costco on a blustery day, and I struggled to keep my cart from running away. Later that day, my core was very sore, so it was a good reminder to not overdo it.
At 14 weeks PP, I played in a softball tournament and completely forgot I'd had surgery. That's when I knew I was 95% back to normal.
Following. Just had this same thought cross my mind as we planned during my lunch class at the gym.
I had a horribly crappy sleeper for the first year so I didn't do anything but stroller walks/jogging. Hope to be more active during my next pregnancy and able to grab a lunch class when I go back to work.
My Bootcamp classes wouldn't allow me back before 8 weeks, so that's when I started up again. My incision was fine, just burned a little during ab and core work. It still twinges a bit 8 months later. I still don't feel like I'm back in shape like I was pre pregnancy.

I was released to exercise at 5 weeks pp. I started walking immediately in the hospital and by 4 days pp was walking 2+ miles a day twice a day (cabin fever!). I was full out back into riding my bike, weight training etc but 10 weeks. My scar still twinges now and then. Ease into it and listen to your body.
