Oh no! The u/s tech at my OB's office runs strictly on schedule and they make you re-schedule if you're late. I assume having to drink 32 oz of water is part of the reason why, haha.
When I went in for IVF embryo transfer they told me I had to have a full bladder. So I chugged a whole bunch of water. And then they were running over an hour late, and I literally spent the whole time desperately trying not to pee my pants. And then when they finally called me in the nurse told me to go pee for 10 seconds and then make myself stop or I wouldn't be able to make it through the procedure.
I thought I was going to die the few times before the u/s. I always went a little overboard and even the technician said my bladder was too full (who knew that was possible?)

Oh God I remember this too! And then when I finally did go pee I was worried I was going to pee out the transferred embies lol
I'm so sorry! Id probably be in tears. That's definitely a form if pregnant woman torture!
Can I ask why some u/s require a full bladder? I've never had to do that, and in my dating us at my MW she made me pee because my bladder was full (although I wasn't in omg have to pee territory yet) and it makes things harder to see.

I don't have a why, but they told me to come with a full bladder at my first u/s appointment (which will be at 8 weeks). I hope to God it's transabdominal, and that I'm not going to get prodded with the dildocam when I desperately have to pee.
I made it and I didn't pee on the waiting room floor. Whew.
Of course then the technician had the balls to say "Your bladder is really full!"
Noooo. Really?! My bladder was so stinking full she couldn't even find my left ovary. She had to let me go to the bathroom before she could see everything. I didn't have to gorge on water with DS's ultrasounds... ?

I was told by the ultrasound tech that if the bladder is full it pushes on your cervix so that it is easier for them to see it. I only had the first part of my u/s with a full bladder and then she did the rest after I peed.

Because your bladder is nestled around your uterus in such a way that having a full bladder makes it easier to see certain things because your uterus gets pushed forwards. It also makes it more difficult to see other things, so it depends what they're looking for.

That happened to me when I was pregnant with DD. The u/s tech took one look and told me to go to the bathroom because my bladder was too full to see what she needed to see. WTF!
