In general, I have a lot of brushes that have different specific uses. I have a blending brush, a liner brush (for use with shadows), an angled liner brush (to use with gel liners), a flat top brush for tightlining, etc.
I have a bunch but I could do just fine with MAC 217s. Also the base shadow brush from the Real Techniques eye starter set is great for cream shadows. I wish I could but just another one of those.

I have a variety, a lot of ELF and various inexpensive brands, but very few I adore. My shade/crease duo brush from Crown Makeup probably gets used the most.
I have an unfortunate number of brushes for a variety of purposes, but the ones I use every single day unless I'm doing a single color or cream shadow look are as follows:
A fluffy blending brush for my all-over base powder and blending (equivalent to MAC 224)
A pencil brush for highlighter under my brow, although the tip of a small, flat shader brush will also work. This can also be used to smudge your eyeliner.

This is exactly my every day brush routine. I also use the pencil brush to get a bit of highlighter or shimmer around the inner corner of my eye and the inner corner of my lower lash line.

One of my bucket list items is to actually remember to do this. Every single day I get in my car, look in the rear view mirror, and realize that I once again failed to smear some highlighter in my inner corner. Total brain block.
One of my new recent favorites is MAC 252. However, it's a large brush for eyes. I love it because I have big, deep set eyes and a lot of 'real estate' on my lids, as I call it. Many eye makeup brushes are too small so I've been lovin' this one. My other fave for crease is MAC 222 but it's discontinued.
