I love these discussions because it's so interesting to see what common or popular makeups just don't work for some. This is just meant to be light-hearted and fun, but y'all already know that.
I will start:
- NARS Orgasm. It's OK, I guess. I prefer Deep Throat although that doesn't knock my socks off, either.
- Cool tones. I want so badly to make them work for me but instead they are a great way to age myself about 10 years AND look like I'm battling some sort of face disease.
- winged eye liner. My eye shape refuses to cooperate.
I wish I could wear darker colors on my lids and do more with eyeliner. My eyes are deep-set and kind of hooded, so if I wear anything too dark or thick makes my eyes look sunken in and tiny. I'm so jealous of people who can do all kinds of fancy stuff with their lid space.
I'll second the Nars orgasm - it's just too light - it does nothing for me. and N3. It's so pretty in the package, but just didn't translate well to my skin tone. whomp whomp.
I don't like the new contouring trend. I have no interest on hopping onto that band wagon.
Yeah I agree with this. I think we talked about it a bit in one of the original MUT, but I liked it better when you used bronzer on all the high points for some color. Admittedly I still do this as opposed to contouring.

Overdrawn lips. Not that I'd really want to, but my lips got really sensitive after I had an allergic reaction to medication a few years ago and I can't do lip pencils.

Super manicured brows
Countouring. I'll do some shimmers blow the eye and bronzing below the blush but all that heavy duty stuff that makes you look like you start with epic sideburns doesn't work for me. I spend too much time trying to get rid of my facial hair to draw it back on
Winged eyeliner. My eyes are deep set, hooded, and droop slightly downward. I realize this makes me sound very very attractive. But wings make me look like a bandit, not a cat.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

It is like you can read my mind, with all three of these.

I have deep set eyes too and have the same issues.
I like the look of winged liner, it just doesn't work on my eyes.
Any heavier or dramatic (winged, even a wee bit) liner. I think my eyes are too small - I wind up looking...my make up looks muddy and heavy instead of polished.
Brows. I am pale. But my brows are a darker version of my hair color. Lashes, too. So, to do anything to my brows and suddenly I'm all Insta-makeup!
Wait - huh? How does green eye shadow not work on you? I feel a sense of deja vu coming. I think we have had this conversation but green should work with your coloring!

I've tried. I've failed. I can't make it work on me.

I'm with y'all. Dark colors on lids look super weird on me with deep set eyes (though not hooded). I've tried the smoky eye many times and it's always been a fail. However, I have mastered the winged liner and wear it frequently! :-)
Purple lip products, eyeliner on my lower eye, as well as lengthening mascara since I already have long lashes. Any dark products under my eye makes me look like a racoon. I hate the dark circles under my eyes so, so much.
