This season was pretty good. I think it was going to be really hard for them to ever keep up the awesomeness that was season 1 and kind of season 2 (despite the FFing through all of WWI)

I feel like during the seasons and immediately after, everyone is like "great season!! So much better than the last!!" And then I watch it and think it kind of sucks and tell people and they're like "yeah, it was disappointing."

I'm sad to see it go, but it was losing steam. I hope they do a great wrap-up to the final season, I want to see a wedding between Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes, I want to see that Daisy lived happily ever after, maybe becoming a bakery owner or restaurant owner. I want to see Edith running Anthony's paper and My ONE BIG wish is that they were wrong about Anthony being dead and he comes back and sweeps Edith off her feet. Oh and that Edith finally slaps Mary across the face for being a C**T.

My only addition to this is that the Bates-es happily ride off into the sunset and make lots of baby Bates-es.
It needs to end but I am still sad about it ending. I wish they could have done more with those first few seasons as they were so good. Why are the seasons all so short?
British shows usually have shorter and fewer seasons. I personally think that's why they have so many strong shows.
I'm ready for this to wrap. Actors keep leaving to pursue other things and I don't really care about half the characters. I'm basically just watching for Isobel, Violet, and the clothes.

I want Edith and Mary to come into their own. For me that means Edith living an awesome life with Marigold in London while doing a great job running the paper. For Mary that is her running Downton which has always been her dream. As sad as it would be that's why I kind of want it to end with Robert dying and Mary being left as 'regent' while George is a minor and getting to take the reigns and run things. Definitely want to see the Carson-Hughes wedding. Want Daisy finding her happiness whatever that is for her.

I am still waiting for them to find out that Michael Gregson was married. The only person who knew besides Edith was Matthew, and considering he died only days after he found out, I don't believe he told anyone. Yet Edith was able to discover the information with a phone call. I know it seems a small point next to the whole Marigold storyline, but I feel like it was dropped.

I think it was dropped because it is no longer of any importance, the issue with him being married is him being unable to marry her, he's dead so that's the bigger issue In the gap between I think it was a matter of we have a lot going on so we're just going to pretend this whole mess over in the corner isn't happening.
Oh. Well, you should...I think you would like it. You like period pieces!
I do need a new show to watch.... I'll check it out on Netflix.
Conveniently the final season (really half a season) starts April 5 so you know you can record it and watch the whole series in all it's awesomeness. Mad Men is pretty amazing, though it's had a down season or two.

Ugh, I HATE Bates. I feel like Anna will never be totally happy because he's so nosy and broody and keeps confessing to crap and getting accused/arrested/convicted of murder.
First of all, on bringing my two faves, Lady Mary and Betty Draper Francis together. Strong work.
Wrt to your sentiment, however, I think we both know Edith would be picking her teeth up off the floor if she even had a daydream about it!
Zipping up flame-retardant jumpsuit . . . . if Edith bitch-slaps Mary, I hope she gets it dished right back to her. Mary can be pretty cold, but it doesn't get much colder than adopting your child out and then changing your mind and taking her back . . . twice.

Oh hell no. The only reason her child was taken from her was bc of family pressure. She was dying to be Msrigolds mother. There is nothing colder than Mary this season to Edith after they had confirmation of Gregson's death.

OMG...... I want Thomas's ending to be like SMG's ending in Cruel Intentions. He comes out of the house and all the family and staff are standing there looking him, like you did all this shit?? LOL

the really shitty thing about revealing the Pamuk daliance is it would taint the entire family so not only was she making Mary unmarriagable she was affecting Sybil's ability to marry well also. And that's why it was a shitty thing to do, if it was a straight shot at Mary I'd be more you get what you give but she was knowingly dragging Sybil into it and Sybil was a totally neutral party.

And it's not like Mary didn't attempt to sabotage several of Edith's romances over the years?
BAH. @songforyou I have to step away from the keyboard. I'm just even saltier about everything after spending a week with my sister. Who didn't even ask me one question about myself the entire time I was there. You folks on this board know more about me than she does.
