I have heard lots of good things about it and would like to try it for my cousin's wedding this summer, but I'm nervous that you only get the dress 1 day before your event. You have to have a back-up if it doesn't look good, right? So, if I have to have a back-up anyway, why not just wear the back-up dress to begin with and save the money?
I did this for a wedding back in November and I think I'm going to do it again for a wedding in April. You can have two sizes sent (I can't remember if it costs more). I liked it because either I buy a $100-$150 dress I'm going to wear once, or I spend like $40-$50 and pick something I wouldn't normally buy/wear. I also already have back-up dresses so it wasn't that big of a deal for me.
When you order you get to pick two sizes in hopes that one works out. The reviews I've found on there are really helpful and detailed and also include pictures of people in the dress so you can get an idea based on your shape what the dress could look like on. Several of my friends use it and love it and have had success with one of the two sizes fitting them. I have not used it yet, but would definitely try it out.

You order two sizes to try. The online reviews are extremely helpful. I used it a year or two ago for a wedding and was happy with the service. I think at the time I also found a promo code to order a backup dress for a small extra fee (~$20 maybe?) so maybe try searching online for promos.
I have only used it once but I am actually getting a dress tonight for an event I have tomorrow. The reviews and picture of real people wearing the dress are really helpful. And yes you get a second size for free so that helps.
And yes, definitely read the reviews and look at the pictures, they are very helpful. Most reviews give you the height/weight/bra size/body shape of the person wearing the dress to give you a really good idea how it fits.

you know how when you order something at a restaurant, you don't just blindly pick and hope you like it? you look for something with flavors you enjoy, maybe with something new thrown in.
RTR is like that. if you're just blindly picking "ooh, pretty!" without looking at whether it will look good on your shape or body type...then you deserve to wear the backup dress.
