How much do fast passes open up closer to the trip? I just got my sister's ticket and could only manage to get times close for a couple days. Thankfully I got AK to line up exactly and Epcot is pretty darn close, which are the 2 parks I think it's more important for the group to somewhat stay together.
MK day 1, is so/so, but I got a couple she could take E on by herself, which I know she wanted to do. MK day 2 was a cluster and nothing lines up. Hollywood studios is so/so too.
At least she and my dad can switch if necessary. He gets motion sickness easily.

Good luck to both of you!!
Any ideas on how rider swap works? Does everyone need a FP for the attraction? I am seeing conflicting reports.
In my world, I would have DH take DD while I stay with DS. Then DH would stay with DS and I would take DD (2nd time for her). I believe this is ok (up to 3 ppl can repeat ride?) but I can't figure out if I also need a FP for it.
I don't have your answers but my FP window opens tonight and I'm nervous in anticipation over stupid A&E Fastpass!
Thankfully no A&E for us. E won't even watch Frozen, lol. Last time I tried to put it on, she yelled at me "Tiger" (for Daniel Tiger) and grabbed the amazon fire remote.

We had good luck swapping stuff around the week of our trip. I did lots of swapping times around the day of as we were eating breakfast. We already had them for A&E and TSMM and didn't need them for any other really in-demand ones, but I often saw bigger ones pop up when I was looking.

This is what it says. We only used it once (Mission Space) because I was newly pregnant and I'm not a coaster person anyway but I didn't get on line at all. Just waited in the area where the ride lets out (there's a little play area there for kids). When DH was done I got on line.
If Guests in your party don’t want to board an attraction, you don’t have to miss out. One adult can wait with the non-rider while the rest of the party experiences the attraction. The waiting adult can then board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again when another adult in the party returns to supervise the child or children who do not ride—either because they do not meet the height requirement or simply do not wish to ride.
Rider Switch is available at select attractions at all 4 Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. See a Cast Member at the attraction for more information.
To Use Rider Switch:
1. Check that Rider Switch is offered at the attraction in question by asking a Cast Member.
2. Enter the normal queue with your entire party. At least one adult member of your party and the Guest who will not be riding will then be issued a Rider Switch Pass and asked to wait in a designated area. This group is “Party 2.”
3. The remaining party members, “Party 1,” ride the attraction.
4. After riding the attraction, Party 1 locates Party 2. The non-rider is then “switched” to Party 1.
5. Party 2 enters without having to wait in the regular queue a second time and boards the attraction. The Rider Switch Pass must be presented to a Cast Member at this time.
If the person in Party 2 waited alone with the child, he or she may bring one Guest back to ride the attraction with him or her. Please note: Only 2 Guests are allowed per Rider Switch Pass.
In my experience I got way better fast passes when I switched mine the day of while in the park. I booked them at my 60 day window, but looking at the app in the park they had A&E, mine train, space mountain, etc.

which days are you going again? I checked the dibb www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=835236 and it looks like they're booking up quickly for your week, but I don't remember your days. Good luck!

I managed to score SW sci fi breakfast and Jedi Mickey dinner reservations- on different days. Is doing both overkill? We really liked the SW breakfast before, so I think if I cancel one it will be Jedi Mickey.

We are only doing one (the sci fi) because if we are going to spend so much money on a meal, we don't want to see the disney characters dressed up!
But we are also doing both princess meals. Sooooo, I clearly am not very good at making decisions! Lol
Yeah, I don't have any other dining reservations, but part of me really doesn't see the appeal of Disney characters dressed up as SW. Maybe the kids would love it? Perhaps I need to look up reviews to help sway me.
In unrelated news, I did get an A&E FP. DD1 is going to flip.
Woohoo! I stayed up late on the eve of our 60 day window too... even doing it right at midnight Eastern time we could only get A&E on our last day. I was a nervous wreck! So glad you got the FP!

My parents each had 4 day one park DVC tickets when we went in February. My mom decided she wanted an extra day with us at Hollywood, so she could see the boys do Jedi Academy. We bought her an additional one-day ticket, and were able to get her fastpasses that overlapped ours for every attaction the night before. They weren't the exact same times, but we could get on everything we needed. Things keep freeing up as people decide to change their plans.
We were also able to change things on the fly when one of our MK days got changed for some of our party. We were able to get overlapping times for that day too.
Keep looking and you should be able to change the times to something that works for you.

I'm going to Disney with just DH for the Expedition Everest challenge next month. We're going home on May 4th. I booked him and I the Sci Fi Star Wars breakfast for that day. He's excited about seeing what Hollywood Studios may do for May 4.

You can try to circumvent the FP+ limit by using rider swap. It helped us at Epcot with the two Tier 1 rides. What we did was:
FP+ for Soarin' for DD1 and me. FP+ for Test Track for DH.
Showed up at Soarin', DD1 and I scanned FP+ and asked for a swap for DH since he was staying with DD2. DD1 and I rode Soarin' while DD2 and DH ate. Met up after the ride and DD1 and DH went back to ride Soarin' again with the rider swap pass.
Went over to Test Track. DH entered FP+ line and asked for a rider swap. DH rode while we played with the stuff inside. DD1 and I rode Test Track using the swap pass.
The problem that you have is if the standby line is less than 10 minutes, cast members may refuse to give you a swap pass.
We also booked like this at the Magic Kingdom for Mine Train. I booked DH and DD1 with FP+ for mine train, and me with a FP+ at the same time for Cinderella/Rapunzel. We all went to Mine Train and got the swap pass, DD2 and I went and met Cinderella using my FP+ because she didn't require a ticket/FP+, and then DD1 and I rode Mine Train again using the swap.
