So my DW is getting her PhD this weekend and thus a ton of family is flying in from out of state and many are staying with us. And because of this DW decided we need to redo our basement. We have a finished basement that is a game room. It needed a good cleaning but it would have been fine for my brother to bunk in. But noooo....we have to repaint the floor (checker board pattern), install cabinets, completely move and rearrange every single piece of furniture and a bunch of other little things. So in the process of doing this a lot of shit got move upstairs and then the stuff upstairs starting piling up.
Anyway....to my cleaning point - last night I finally got the entire first floor back in working order. Floors scrubbed, carpets cleaned, furniture polished, fans dusted, fridge emptied, counters scrubbed, bathroom spiffy, and light bulbs changed.
This evening we will work on the basement a bit more and prep the guest room and then make the first of many trips to the airport to collect our guests.
Holy Doesn't it feel awesome to clean things up like that??
Absolutely! And as much as I bitch to my wife about hating house projects I actually do enjoy them when they are aren't under a time constraint. But now this will be done, family will be here and we can all just enjoy.
